4-24-11 Playoff Game # 4 Miami Heat v Philadelphia 76ers

LeBron James # 6 and Jrue Holiday #11 shoot to put the two teams on the scoreboard. (2-3) then it’s off to the races. Zydrunas Ilgauskas # 11 gets a rebound then LeBron surrounded by 3 76ers throws for 2. Elton Brand # 42 rolls one in. Heat loses the ball to the 76ers but LeBron charges after the thief, fouling and sending Andre Iguodala # 9 to the line. (4-7). Holiday in the paint on his way to the basket sends a behind-the-back pass to Jrue Holiday # 11, who goes up for 2. ( 4-11). A Heat shot clock violation a 3-pointer by Iguodala # 9 keeps Miami behind (4-14). Bosh shoots in the paint adding 2 to bring Miami within 10 of the 76ers. A 76er sneaks into the paint to take their score to 20. Spencer Hawes # 00 fouls Bosh sending him to the line, adding 2. Joel Anthony # 50 comes in and stops Brand # 42 from scoring. A 2nd foul on LeBron takes him out of the game. (8-20). Philly goes on to push the score up to the widest lead in the play-off series. Wade goes up to the rim but Tony Battie # 4 blocks him. Bosh in the paint catches a pass and adds 2. A Philly turnover results in a 3-pointer by Wade from the corner. A goal tending call on Anthony adds to the 76ers’ score 13-23. Mario Chalmers 3 15 from the corner adds 3 as the 1st quarter winds down with Miami trailing 16-28.

LeBron gets hit in the head by Evan Turner’s body contact. Then Turner scores over LeBron. (16-30). Jrue Holiday’s 2nd foul takes him out and brings Iguodala # 9 back in the game. LeBron goes into the paint up the middle to score and draws the foul adding an extra point 19-30. Iguodala hits a long 3. (19-33). James Jones # 22 is called for stepping out of bounds when Evan Turner # 12 goes flying by as Jones prepares to shoot. Then after the shot, Thaddeus Young # 21 comes at Jones yapping his 2 cents worth. James Jones, fed up with Young’s aggressive in your face sidelines show, pushes back to defend his territory and gets a foul call. Brand # 42 shoots over Bosh 21-37. Bosh shoots open for 2 (23-37). Young gets inside the paint to add 2. (23-39). A rebound by LeBron and pass to Wade at the other end, results in a basket. (25-39). James Jones 3 22 throws a triple reducing the 76ers’ lead to 11. (28-39). With perfect timing Wade steps in with a steal to get the action going then goes on for 2. Elton Brand throws; Joel Anthony # 50 gets the rebound. Mario Chalmers # 15 hits a 3-pointer. The 76ers’ lead is diminishing. Wade races into the paint for 2 (37-41). Brand draws his 1st foul on Wade sending him to the floor. Wade looks up from the floor with that look. “Hey Wade, don’t get mad, get even.” Wade goes on to do just that. Wade shoots over Jrue Holiday for 3. (39-41). Then after an air ball by the 76ers, Wade draws a 3rd foul on Holiday and goes to the line to tie the score 41-41. With just under 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter, Wade shoots sending Miami into the lead 43-41. A turnover by the 76ers goes to Wade then he speeds to the basket where LeBron meets the ball at the rim just in time to slam it in. Wade jumps for 2 adding his 14th point this quarter. Heat fans at home are shouting “Defense, Defense,” when the Heat, aggressively jumping loses a rebound to the 76ers. Then Wade against Spencer Hawes # 00 keeps the shot out of the basket. Good Heat defense forces Turner to take a tough shot, still he adds 2.
Coming back after half time the score is like a roller coaster. Z # 11 fouls Hawes 00 sending the 76ers up with a 1-point lead. Then Z going up to the rim is fouled and at the line brings the score back to a tie. Brand #42 draws a foul on LeBron as he heads to the rim, sending the 76ers up by 1. (49-50). Z # 11 gets a 2nd foul as he scrambles for a rebound sending Brand # 42 to the line. Wade’s 2-pointer leaves the Heat trailing by 1. Then Iguodala # 9 sneaks in to score. An out of bounds ball off the leg of Holiday sends the ball to the Heat. Mike Bibby gets 2 rebounds in a row. Iguodala # 9 grabs Joel Anthony’s arm as he goes up to the basket. Anthony at the line adds 2. With good anticipation, Wade draws a foul by Iguodala # 9. (54-56). An offensive foul sends the 76ers ball back to Miami. Under the basket, Turner # 12 is wide open. Then Bosh is wide open and gains 2 from the side. (56-58). The shot clock runs out on Hawes 00. Wade passes to Bosh who jumps for 2 to tie the score. LeBron draws a foul on Thaddeus Young # 21 sending LeBron to the line to push Miami to a 2-point lead. (60-58). Hawes ties the Heat again at 60-60. After a turnover, LeBron adds 3 to put Miami on top by 1. LeBron holds the ball as the clock runs down from 24 to 4 seconds then throws up over his back and in, drawing a foul. At the line, LeBron adds 1. At the end of the 3rd quarter, Miami leads 66-64.

Brand’s jumper ties the score 66-66. LeBron responds with 2 pushing Miami back into the lead. A rebound to Mario Chalmers, then LeBron gets the basket and a 5th personal foul call on Iguodala. (71-66). Coach Erik Spoelstra walks the floor along the sidelines. A steal from LeBron sends the action back to the other end with the 76ers in hot pursuit. James Jones knocks down a long 2 from the corner increasing Miami’s lead to 7. (73-66). A Heat steal goes back to the 76ers. Bosh goes up and gets the rebound racing to the other end, leaving Wade getting up off the floor. Holiday drives into the paint for 2 making it a 5-point game with 8 minutes in the 4th quarter. LeBron cleans up a shot to give Miami a 5-point lead 75 -70. A 3-point shot is thrown by Williams, and then followed by another 2 pointer tying the score at 75 with 6:34 minutes in the 4th quarter. As Bosh starts to go up Turner grabs the ball and heads to the other end – But Wade says, “Gimmie,” as he takes the ball back. James goes down the lane but Hawes # 00 gets a piece of his neck. LeBron is not happy with Hawes but Bosh calmly walks between the two players deflecting the conflict. LeBron goes to the line giving Miami a 1-point lead. The shot clock runs out for the 76ers. Anthony grabs Bosh’s rebound with 4:06 minutes. Williams draws a foul on Bosh. Then a foul sends LeBron to the line. A foul on James Jones sends the ball to the 76ers. Bosh is holding down some serious defense under the basket blocking both Williams and Turner. LeBron James, Joel Anthony and James Jones all jump at the basket to put a stop to the 76ers’ attempt to score. (78-76) Miami’s defense gets 5 blocks. LeBron shoots 2 over Iguodala to give Miami a 4- point lead with 1:53 left in the game. A turn over by the 76ers sends the ball to Miami. James goes to the basket and Wade cleans up adding 2. (82-76). However, Turner responds with 2. (82-78) Then, Holiday makes a 3 with 45 seconds in the game; Miami leads by 1 point. (82-81). With 23 seconds, Philly gets Wade’s rebound and Williams # 23 shoots 3 putting Philadelphia ahead by 2 and 8 seconds left in the game. It all boils down to the final point. LeBron goes up but Brand gets a piece of the ball sending it to a 76er. With 2 seconds Williams # 12 goes to the line and adds 2 giving the 76ers a 4-point lead with only 2 seconds left. Miami Heat loses playoff game # 4 with a final score 82-86.

During the wire at half time, the 76ers’ coach said, “They push hard in the 4th quarter – that’s what they do.” With nothing to lose and desperate the 76ers pushed back hard in the 4th quarter. In the post-game interview, Lou Williams # 23 said to the reporter, “We got heart. It all depended on my shot, I had to roll.”

Heat fans have long faces but feel some gratitude knowing that the Heat will return to Miami for a 5th playoff game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. to give them another dose of the Heat’s thrilling performance to satisfy their addiction to drama.

4-21-11 Playoff Game # 3 Miami Heat v Philadelphia 76ers

Spencer Hawes # 00 starts the night out throwing over the Heat defense to put the 76ers on the scoreboard and then comes back with a triple. The 76ers go on to gain a nine-point lead until Zydrunas Ilgauskas # 11 puts the Heat on the scoreboard. Z # 11 comes right back to score 2 more over the 76ers’ defense. A steal by Jodie Meeks # 20 strips Miami of the ball. A series of mishaps sends the ball back and forth from Philadelphia to Miami and back again. Five minutes into the game, the score is 6-13. Jrue Holiday # 11 gets through 3 Heat defenders. LeBron James # 6 passes to Chris Bosh # 1 under the basket but Hawes blocks sending Bosh to the line where he gains a point. Philadelphia gets a 3 second defensive violation. LeBron goes to the line to push Miami’s score to 8. Then LeBron goes to the rim again. (10-15). Dewayne Wade # 3 with the ball gets an immediate swarm of 76ers. Instead of to the basket, Wade goes to the line adding 2. The Heat is down by 3. (12-15). Elton Brand # 42 hits ball out of bound but the Ref calls it Philadelphia’s ball. Louis Williams # 23 adds 2. Tony Battie # 4 adds 2. Wade finger rolls in a basket 14-19. Williams from the corner runs in the paint to the basket. Coming back again, Jrue Holiday throws 3. (14-24). Bosh throws and its good. 16-24. The Heat is down 8 with 2:35 minutes remaining in the 1st quarter. Wade runs up and in adding 2. Thaddeus Young # 21 is called for traveling. (18-26) Young’s defense causes James Jones # 22 to lose the ball. At the other end, LeBron gets the rebound. LeBron passes to Mike Bibby # 0 for 3. Miami trails by 5. (21-26). But Williams # 23 adds 3 before the fist quarter winds to an end pushing the 76ers’ lead to 8, with a score of 21-29.

LeBron James comes back from the 1st quarter jumping to the rim. Young # 21 gets a 2nd traveling call. Joel Anthony # 50 versus Thaddeus Young # 21. Young Intercepts the Heat’s ball with a fast run; but Anthony is thinking about that ring and grabs the lose ball “Give me that ball back.” A pass to LeBron under the basket but 76ers defense grab LeBron around the neck. “Hey, this is basketball not wrestling.” LeBron gets his 2 points at the line instead of at the basket. (25-29). A block by Bosh sends Elton Brand # 42 to the line but the basket is no good. Wade rolls a ball into the basket. (27-32) Joel Anthony is ambidextrous now with left hand scoring. Joel Anthony knows that the best offense is a good defense as he aggressively defends Young causing a 24 second violation by the 76ers. Wade with a difficult shot jumps for 2. Now the Heat is down by 3. (31-34) Wade takes a jab while in the air; first, he levitates; now he’s falling, losing control, grabbing his left shoulder. A Heat turnover sends the race to the other end where Joel Anthony stops Young’s action. At the line, Thaddeus Young # 21 gets his 1st point of the night. (31-40). A fall by Bosh, a foul on Young, adds to at the line. (33-40) Another 24 second violation the ball goes to Bosh, swarmed by 3 white shirts sends the ball out of bounds… Chalmers gets the rebound. Bosh hits a clean shot 35-40… Bosh tries to tell the Ref, “I did not touch that ball.” The replay supports Bosh but the message falls on deaf ears, the Ref gives the ball to the 76ers. LeBron throws a long pass to Wade who over takes 2 – 76ers on his way home. The eveready energizer leaves everybody in the dust. Wade is already up at the basket. (40-43). Now the train is coming, lookout, 1,2,3,4 defending white shirts surround him. Andre Iguodala # 9 fouls him but not before he gets 3 points. Iguodala takes a seat on the bench. LeBron’s rebound is taken by Jodie Meeks # 20 who goes on to add 3.(41-46) A pass by Bosh gets turned over to the 76ers. Then Wade comes back to get 3. James Jones’ corner shot adds 3 (44-46). Evan Turner # 12 responds with 2. Wade, headed to the basket surrounded by 3 defenders, throws a quick pass to Jones in the corner and its good adding another 3. (47-50). Wade, surrounded by 2- 76ers does a reverse to get the basket and a foul adding 1 at the line. The Heat goes into halftime trailing by 2. (50-52)

Coming back in the 3rd quarter after a good half-time laugh, a turnover to the Heat ties the game 52-52. LeBron scores to take Miami into its first lead. Getting his 8th rebound, LeBron’s shot is tipped in by Z. Jodie Meek’s triple brings the 76ers within 1 point of the Heat. (56-55). A tip by Ilgauskas sends the ball from the 76ers to the Heat. However, a moving screen sends the ball back to 76ers, sending them back into the lead. (56-59). A triple by Iguodala # 11 sends the 76ers up by 8. Then a turnover by Iguodala. Bosh is under the basket and under attack. He throws up and Z finishes… Then Z tips in another. Wade and Bosh collide with Elton Brand # 42. The ball rims out sending Bosh to the line with nothing… Wade steals and throws up a long pass to LeBron adding 2. (62-68). LeBron steals, then with a behind the back dribble, LeBron nearly trips but not before getting the ball to Wade who goes up and nearly tears down the rim with 4:21 left in the 3rd quarter. LeBron starts to shoot but then decides to go up to the basket so he charges into the paint. Turning up the heat, Joel Anthony goes up and Wade finishes tying the score 68-68… Young # 21 goes up but meets Joel Anthony at the rim, “Not here,” Anthony defiantly informs him rejecting Young’s attempt. The fans in the Wells Fargo Center are silent. Wade is coming with the ball, but… Lou Williams # 23 runs in to score leaving the Heat frozen. (71-74) With 23 seconds in the 3rd quarter, Elton Brand # 42, bodies LeBron sending LeBron to the line. Chalmers uses a foul to stop the 76ers with 3 seconds left to play in the 3rd quarter. Heat is down by 2 at the end of the 3rd quarter. (73-75)

LeBron comes back in the 4th quarter and throws a 3-pointer to take the Heat into the lead 76-75. LeBron and James battle for the rebound. Bosh for 2 with 2 seconds on the shot clock. Jrue Holiday responds with 2 to keep the score within 1. Bosh throws up and Joel Anthony taps it in to send Miami to a 3-point lead. (82-79) Heat adds another 2. (84-79) Anthony gets a rebound. Wade in the paint gets tangled up by 3- 76ers, resulting in a jump ball. Wade gets his 9th rebound and heads into the lane again with the sharks. Brand gets his 4th foul, sending Wade to the line to add 2, (88-79) With 5 minutes left James Jones gets a rebound but a foul by Jones gives Williams 3 points at the line. With silence in the stands adds 1 of 3. Wade gets the rebound and sends LeBron to the basket giving the Heat a 10-point lead. 90-80. With 3:40 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter, Z gets his 8th offensive rebound. LeBron shoots a 3 and Wade hammers it home. Then Brand responds with 2. (92-86). Bosh scores just in time before the shot clock runs out. Jrue Holiday responds with a long 3 making it a 5-point game with 2 minutes to play. LeBron jumps for 2. (96-89) Young comes back with a hook. It’s a 5-point game with 1:30 left. LeBron loses the ball but James Jones taps the ball to Bosh. Time runs down to 58 seconds. Wade shoots and draws a foul. Heat is up by 5 and Wade goes to the line and adds 2. Louis Williams # 23 throws in 3 from the corner. Heat ball with 13 seconds. A foul sends James Jones to the line with 3 seconds. In the City of Brotherly Love, the Heat goes on to beat the 76ers 100-94. The game points, rebounds, and assists by the 3 kings total 75-31-15.

4-18-11 Playoff Game # 2 Miami Heat v Philadelphia 76ers

 Chris Bosh # 1 gains a steal and races to score at the other end (2-6). Early in the game Miami is in the lead. Dewayne Wade’s hook adds 2 (2-8). A first foul is called against Bosh – Spencer Hawes # 00 misses but Wade grabs the rebound and gallops to the other end and with a powerful arm slams in a dunk (3-10). LeBron James’ jump ball goes in but rims back out – LeBron passes to Zydrunas Ilgauskas # 11 who is wide open for 2. At the other end, Heat gets the rebound with 2:35 minutes left in the 1st quarter (9-15). Joel Anthony # 50 tips in LeBron’s jump shot (9-17). Jrue Holiday # 11 misses a long 3 but gets the rebound. Louis Williams # 23 leans into Mario Chalmers # 15 fouling him. Mike Miller # 13 with the ball starts to take off with a dribble when Thaddeus Young # 21 grabs the ball – Miller is still hanging on to the ball. The ref can’t see and calls a foul on Mike Miller instead of a jump ball. James Jones # 22 shoots over Thaddeus Young for 2 as the shot clock and the 1st quarter wind down with a score of 13-19.

In the 2nd quarter, LeBron James passes to Bosh who takes a dive upwards toward the basket and puts it in. Then Joel Anthony does what he does best; he blocks (15-22)… LeBron charges with no stopping, gets the rebound. Chalmers from the corner runs in for a basket and adds 2. Evan Turner # 12 throws the first 3 of the night (18-26). Chalmers shoots from the line but it rims out of the basket. “Watch out Wade for Williams # 23 he’s going to jump and lean into you to draw a foul,” too late. (20-28). “Stop those turnovers; your thoughts are racing before you gain control of the ball. Instead, multitask – dribble, think, defend and remember that final shot.” Nice move Joel Anthony # 50 to Chalmers to Bosh with a fake then to the basket. Young missing a finger roll leaves a plate at the table for Joel Anthony to get the rebound. Chalmers forces a bouncing pass to Wade but results in a turnover (20-30). “Anticipate, finesse” Wade goes on the attack getting to the basket and drawing a foul (23-35) A block by Joel Anthony goes from Wade to Chalmers then up in the cloud to “Skywalker” LeBron. A steal by Anthony leads to a Wade ambush at the other end leaving Wade getting up slowly off the floor. (27-42). A triple by Mike Bibby # 0 sends Miami to its largest lead 31-49 just before half time. Joel Anthony gets the rebound and LeBron races against the clock, back to the other end but time expires signaling the end of the first half.

3rd quarter, someone needs to pull the Ref to the side. Hey Ref, what’s the deal? Elton Brand # 42 pushed Bosh but Bosh got called for a foul. What’s up with that? Need to require the Refs to take CBE courses (continuing basketball education), then call a technical on the Refs for mis calls.

Mike Bibby with a jumper adds 2. Bosh grabs the ball under the 76ers’ basket sending the ball back to the other end but an over throw causes the ball to come right back to the 76ers. Andre Iguodala # 9 knocks the ball from LeBron. Jody Meeks # 20 for 3. Zydrunas Ilgauskas # 11 gets the rebound. Andre Iguodala # 9 gets another block shot to stop LeBron. Now, LeBron is pinned up, surrounded by 76ers, but does a fake towards the middle then goes left and on to the basket drawing the foul, giving Miami a 21 point lead. Holiday # 11 adds 3. LeBron buries a triple sending Miami back up 19 (42-61). With 2:22 minutes left in the 3rd quarter Miami leads 50-73.A nice bounce pass from Bibby to LeBron sends him to the line. Then, a hard foul by Tony Battie # 4 sends LeBron to the line. James Jones gets a block. Meeks # 20 is headed to the basket but look out, Joel Anthony “Mr. Shot Blocker,” is in hot pursuit on his tail. Holiday # 11 throws a long 2 as the 3rd quarter winds down with the Heat on top by 23 (52-75).

LeBron races against the shot clock and puts it in. then its James Jones # 22. Wade gets Thaddeus’ rebound. With nine minutes in the game, Bosh adds a jumper. Young tries a left-handed hook but it is swept out. A traveling violation on the 76ers sends the ball back to Miami but the shot clock runs out, sending the ball back to the 76ers. Evan Turner # 12 gets his third triple (61-83). Bosh gets his 11th rebound. Finding a space between LeBron and Bosh, Thaddeus Young manages to squeeze in a score. The Heat’s 28- point lead is now reduced to 20 (63-83). LeBron runs up and with a skip to the basket scores despite 3 red shirts in the paint. Wade prepares for take off with the ball in tow, but a 76er has a grip pulling it earth bound. Wade’s take off is aborted. “You may have stopped him from taking flight but you can’t stop him from stealing.” Wade’s steal results in a jumper by Bosh (63-87). Young runs into the paint for a score. Andre Iguodala races to the basket but loses his grip and LeBron gains a steal. Eddie House # 55 adds another score (65-91). Miami overtakes the 76ers with a final score of 73-94.

Heat defense holds the 76ers under 30 percent. But, don’t let that lull you into a false sense of complacency to damage the psyche. Add some beef to the production.

4-16-11 Playoff Game # 1 Miami Heat v Philadelphia 76ers

When the Miami versus Philadelphia game starts, the Chicago Bulls are in the last few minutes of a dog fight. However, Chicago’s Derrick Rose # 1, with a determined will pulls off a win.

It takes the Miami Heat a quarter to adjust their eyes to the bright white worn by the 19,000 fans in the American Airlines Arena. The first quarter ends with the Heat down 31-19. In the 2nd quarter Heat is getting warmed up as Joel Anthony # 50 blocks to stop the 76ers from scoring and LeBron James # 6 goes to the line adding 2, reducing the lead to 10 (33-23). The Heat is shaking down the lead. A third turnover sends the ball to Mario Chalmers # 15 and Chris Bosh # 1 goes to the line adding 1 (33-26)… Mario Chalmers runs into the paint and brings Miami within 3. A foul is called on Chalmers but then it is changed to Dewayne Wade # 3. Go figure, that was no foul.

A steal by LeBron James # 6 sends Jodie Meeks # 20 in hot pursuit as he grabs LeBron around the neck. A clear-path foul is called giving LeBron 2 shots at the line and possession to the Heat, but wait, the foul is changed to a lose-ball foul. The Ref claims that James did not have control of the ball. No way. (38-36). The shot clock runs down for the 76ers and James gets the rebound. Chalmers for 3 sends Miami into its first lead as the crowd shouts defense. Now, LeBron is charged with a goal tend. James gets a rebound at the other end, then Wade trots with a step to the right, step to the left, passing the red shirts in the paint and to the rim to add 2. Now, Miami is adjusting to the bright white but their anticipation is off. Do not assume that shot is in- get the rebound (49-52). James scores in the paint. James to Zydrunas Ilgauskas # 11 under the basket, and tips it in, now Miami leads by 9.

A train and a plane collide in the paint as LeBron determined to stop Meeks on one side and Wade determined to stop Meeks on the other side all collide and go tumbling to the floor. Wade squints in pain on the floor but he is back up and gives the Heat a 10-point lead (56-66). After Bosh adds 2, Wade is falling again, this time with the ball, but a quick pass to LeBron then to Z # 11 adds 2. A turnover by the Heat sends the ball to the 76ers but another turnover sends it back to the Heat. Z # 11 to Bosh for 2 (60-74). With 2:30 minutes left in the 3rd quarter Wade adds 2 from the corner. Another turnover sends the ball to the Heat, but it is immediately back to Jrue Holiday # 11, but then back to the Heat again. LeBron to the line with 2 points winds down the 3rd quarter with Miami leading 69-80. An offensive foul is called as a 76er jams into Joel Anthony # 50. The ball goes back to the Heat. Heat defense keeps the 76er’s from scoring. At the other end, Bosh is blocked and sent to the line adding 1 (71-82). A pass to Chalmers for 3 (75-88). 6 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter, Holiday adds 3 making it a 3-point game (85-88). Thadeus Young # 21 grabs a rebound and draws a foul. Then , Young on his way for a rebound whacks Bosh sending him to the line (87-90). With 2:03 remaining, LeBron gets his 13th rebound then Wade drives in to get 2 and the foul. At the line, Wade is squinting. Young # 21 races under the basket for 2 (89-92). With only a minute remaining Wade heads to the basket but gets fouled on his way to tear down the rim. At the line, Wade adds 2 (89-94). James gets his 14th rebound. Holiday # 11 heads to the basket but is blocked by James. Wade is fouled with 6 seconds in the game (89-97). The Heat goes on to stop the 76ers in game 1 of the playoffs.

In the after game interview, Bosh said, “I missed a couple of easy shots, I’ll keep that in mind for the next game.” Please Bosh, that is not what you want to keep in mind – instead, imagine in bright, bold, living color the greatest of all the shots that you made.

4-13-11 Miami Heat v Toronto Raptors

Chris Bosh # 1, Dewayne Wade # 3 and LeBron James # 6 sit on the bench as the bench plays tribute to the three kings.
A foul by Jerryd Bayless sends Zydrunas Ilgauskas # 11 to the line with a point that brings the Heat within 1 point of the Raptors lead (15-16). Eddie House # 55 triples in the first quarter sending Miami into the lead by one (18-17). House jumps a long 2 pointer, then another sending the Heat ahead 23-18. House gets another 2 points in the paint. When House hits his 3rd triple, he sends the Heat ahead by 10 points (28-18). Another score by House puts the Heat ahead by 9 at the end of the 1st Quarter (29-20).
In the 2nd quarter, a jump by Juwan Howard # 5 keeps Miami with a 10-point lead. Low defense allows Toronto to get into the paint and brings the score within 8 (35-27)… However, a triple by Chalmers puts Miami back with an 11-point lead. Jamaal Magloire # 21 is on the rebound getting his 8th. Then, James Jones # 22 throws a triple to put Miami’s score on the launching pad for a take-off (43-29). The Raptors attempt a comeback when Johnson out jumps Joel Anthony # 50 to get the basket and the foul, bringing the Raptors within 5 points of the Heat. A turnover by the Heat brings the Raptors within 2. Demar Derozen now in close pursuit makes contact as Eddie House makes his way to the basket. Congrats to Dexter Pitman # 45 who barrels into the paint to score his first point in his NBA career. At half time, the Raptors lead by 1 (50-51).
Z offers a tip that drops the basket giving the Heat a 4-point lead but a 3rd foul on Z puts the Raptors ahead by 2. Then Ed Davis scores in traffic; but Mike Bibby # 0 contributes a significant triple to put Miami back in the lead (67-65). Eddie House goes for another triple and its good (70-69). A turnover by the Raptors leaves the third quarter ending with the crowd shouting, “We want Bosh.”
In the 4th quarter, House gets his 5th triple, giving him 29 points. Juwan Howard and the bench do some fast passing, showing that they are energizer bunnies too, like the three kings over on the sidelines. (72-69). Tonight is a record-breaking game as Jamaal Magloire gets 17 rebounds and House makes his 7th triple giving him 35 points. The 3 kings cannot stay in their seats celebrating their teammates on the sidelines. Go Heat. The Heat wins with a final score 97-79.

4-11-11 Miami Heat v Atlanta Hawks

The Phillips Arena in Atlanta is quiet as Miami pulls off a win over the Atlanta Hawks with 61 % shooting. Dewayne Wade # 3 ended the first half with a throw down that nearly tore down the rim. At half time, Assistant Coach Bob McAdoo said it would take good defense and not letting their eyes off certain Hawks in order to win. Ref called a strange jump ball as LeBron James # 6 headed to the basket (86-83). That’s a new call Ref just added to the playbook. With 3:29 minutes, left in the 4th quarter Atlanta’s Zaza Pachulia # 27 reached the limit in pissing off and ejecting Miami’s Zydrunas Ilgauskas # 11 from the game.
Chris Bosh got in foul trouble early in the game but came back in the end and took a risk to draw a crucial charging foul with 46 seconds left that would change the course of the game. Heat wins with a final score of 98-90.
Miami’s 57th win and a loss by Boston put Miami in a solid 2nd place position going into the playoffs.

4-10-11 Miami Heat v Boston Celtics

Fighting for the 2nd seed in the playoffs, this game matters. Both teams want home court advantage. With an impressive win, Miami playing with intensity on this sunny Sunday muscles to prevail a win over Boston.
Kevin Garnet’s shot is short but he goes to the line with a foul on Chris Bosh # 1, putting Boston on the scoreboard with 3. Then, Boston hits a 3-pointer from the corner. Now, Miami is trailing by 6. (6-0)…Heading to the basket Bosh called with an offensive foul, his 2nd foul with 2 minutes into the game. . . Dewayne Wade # 3 heads straight towards Garnett, but keeps moving on to the basket to put Miami on the score board.. (8-2).. Ray Allen # 20 hits another long shot from the corner for 3, leaving Miami behind by 10. (11-2). Zydrunas Ilgauskas # 11 at the basket tips the ball in, then at the other end gets a rebound that results in a basket. A bullet thrown from LeBron James # 6 to Jwan Howard # 5 who jumps for 2, pushing Miami’ score to 8, but still trailing. (13-8). Paul Pierce # 34 drills in a 3. Then its Glen “Big Baby” Davis # 11. Wade leans in and draws a foul then goes to the line for 2. Bringing Miami within 5 (15-10).
There is a steal by Mike Bibby # 0, but Pierce steals the ball back, then a turn over sends the ball back to the Heat for 2… Pierce hits from the field.. . LeBron James # 6 finds an open back door under the basket and cuts up and in. Kevin Garnett # 5 responds with another 3 pointer. Wade’s bounce pass is stolen, Heat is trailing by 7. (22-15). Joel Anthony # 50 shoots for 2. (22-17). LeBron James and Joel Anthony # 50 collide. The ball goes through the hands of Anthony sending the ball back to Boston. .. But, then a deflection by James sends the ball rolling as James hustles to catch it, but it goes back to Boston with 2 seconds to shoot. No good… Anthony under the basket takes the Heat score to 19. Now Miami is within 3. Pierce # 34 is called with a foul just before LeBron’s basket. LeBron turns the ball over but then Boston throws it out of bounds. Tight Heat defense deflects the ball and with 12 seconds left in the 1st quarter, Wade’s final shot takes the score within 1 of Boston as the quarter fades to black.
In the 2nd quarter Anthony shoots up then gets his own rebound… Bosh is chest to chest with the Boston defender but shoots and its good, taking Miami into the lead in the 2nd quarter… Allen’s shot is blocked. Boston is without a score, throws the ball away. .. James Jones # 22 kicks his leg out as he shoots, attempting for a foul, but no. the basket, though is good. .. Bosh for 2. Davis picks up his 2nd foul as Bosh gets knocked down on the shot. After a 3- second violation Heat gets the ball. A foul is called on Jeff Green # 8 for a holding. Joel Anthony goes up and gets a foul. At the line, he adds 1. Heat now leads by 2. (24-26). Green draws foul on Mike Miller # 13. At the line, Green adds 2 to tie the score. Wade to Miller, the ball circles the rim then drops down. The Heat’s lead widens by 3. (26-29). Miller gets a 2nd foul sending Green to the line. He adds 2 points, now Boston is hot to trot on Miami’s trail. ( 28-29). Bosh attempts a denial, however, Garnet # 5 gets through and heads onward to the rim, but Chalmers says, “Not here,” as he bats the ball out. At the line, Garnet is rattled and both balls go off the rim. James to Chalmers in the corner for 3. (28-32). Garnet comes back charging to the rim for 2. Heat is ahead by 2. (30-32). Chalmers in the paint throws up 2. Delonte West goes spinning, but it’s no good, instead Anthony gets the rebound. Jermaine Oneal # 7 is called for a 1-shot technical, sending Mario Chalmers # 15 to the line, adding 1. Miami leads by 5. (30-35). With intense energy and effort the Heat is keeping it simple. Wade goes up but gets hammered under the basket. The ball does not go in but Wade goes to the line adding 2. (30-37). The Heat starts a fire in the American Arena, playing with intense defense. Garnett a 53 percent shooter goes long for 2. (32-37). . . James gets a rebound then with a behind the back pass, but it goes to the opponent – Not to worry, James immediately gets it back and gets the basket and the contact. (32-39) A dirty play by Germaine Oneal with a forceful body block on James gets LeBron really mad. So mad, he throws the ball at Oneal. Now the Ref doesn’t like LeBron’s reaction and calls a technical foul on LeBron for throwing the ball at Oneal. Now, Wade comes in to defend his team mate and results in contact between Wade and Pierce. “Oh Boy.” The resulting action nearly erupts into a gang fight between the greens and the whites. The Heat is on. Ref calls a flagrant 1 on Jermaine Oneal # 7 and a double technical foul on both Wade and Pierce. At the line, LeBron gets 1 of 2. (33-40)… Back in the game, Wade to Bosh into the basket for 2. (33-42). Heat defense strips Boston but Boston quickly gets the ball back. Kevin Garnet # 5 misses then LeBron with the rebound at the other end jumps to shoot a long 2. (35-44). Chalmers’ ball is tipped back to Chalmers by LeBron giving Chalmers a second chance and its good. Boston is blocked from behind sending the ball back to the Heat, however, a steal turns the ball back over to Boston… On the floor in a squirm, Bosh is right in there tussling with Boston for the ball. Boston calls a time out. Hey, Ref that was a jump ball. Bosh is fighting mad losing his mouth-piece as he throws his fist in defense of his position. “That’s not right”. Ref calls a technical on Bosh. Now all three kings have a technical foul. We ‘bout to have a TKO up in here. . . Fast ball movement by Rajon Rondo # 9 gets him to the basket. Good containment by Bosh results in a 24-second violation on Boston. LeBron with the ball to Chalmers results in a turnover, but then LeBron gets it back and finds himself on the floor on top of the ball quickly calling a time out. Ref calls a jump ball. LeBron walks away with his hands on his head, talking to himself. Ball to Wade then to James as the seconds wind down in the 1st half. Half time ends with a score of 40 -47, Heat leads by 7.
At half time, reporter Doris Burke in an interview tells LeBron to stop biting his nails. No way, I say, “Have-at- it.” LeBron’s finger nails are like Samson’s hair. When he bits his nails, he plays better. Don’t stop, don’t stop.
Z # 11 makes the first shot of the 3rd quarter putting Miami up 9. James sneaks in for 2 (42-51). Bibby throws a 3 that bounces up out of the basket then back in. “You go,” Bibby. Bosh jumps for 2 and with an assist from Bibby, its good. Z drops another shot adding 2 (44-58). With tight defense, LeBron throws a turn- around shot.. . Pierce is fouled by Bosh from behind while Z challenges Pierce in front, both intent on stopping this shot. At the line, Pierce adds 2. (46-58). 6:45 minutes remain in the 3rd. Wade is fouled by Jermaine Oneal picking up his 4th foul, sending Wade to the line for 2. (50-62). LeBron with a steal, gets fouled. Then Garnet blocks James’ shot from behind. LeBron races back down to the other end and draws a blocking foul on Pierce; 3rd foul on Pierce. At the line, LeBron is 2 for 2 and the Heat is 14 ahead. (50-64). A masterful blocker, Wade hustles up to the rim to block a would-be dunk and gracefully without contact sends the ball back to the Heat. . . Bosh gets a 3-point play (55-67)…Ball off Rondo sends the ball back to the Heat with 3:21 left in the 3rd quarter. Bibby skips down the court, then throws to Wade and its up as LeBron flies up after the ball ready to tip it in. (57-69). 2:30 remaining in the 3rd Quarter. Delonte West # 13 is tight on Wade. West and Davis fighting each other for the rebound sends the ball to the Heat. Mike Miller # 13 jumps for the rebound, then Howard throws a shot for 3 (57-71) Heat is up by 14. LeBron is on the floor, Pierce picks up his 4th foul. LeBron takes a jab to the side of his throat, he goes down coughing. Composing himself at the line, he is 1 for 2. (59-72). LeBron bounces the ball as the clock winds down into the final 14 seconds of the 3rd quarter. Boston’s rebound goes out of bounds and to the Heat. In the final play of this quarter, James with a fake shot throws to Anthony who takes a 2-handed grasp and dunks it in. The 3rd quarter ends with the heat ahead by 15 points (59-74).
Bosh hits 3 from the side. James Jones # 22 and Glen “Big Baby” Davis exchange words. It’s over before the Ref gets involved. Alley hoop from Chalmers to James 61-79. Boston’s 3-second violation sends the ball back to the Heat. James is good for 2. With his foot on the 3-point line, James’ shot is good but is reduced from 3 to 2. Heat players are hustling up a sweat and playing some serious ball. Jones throws from the corner for 3, gets fouled by Davis and ends up on the floor. Heat is dominating this game. At the line, Jones is 2 for 2. (61-83). Kevin Garnet goes out of bounds nearly into the lady’s lap, The baby in her lap is looking around like, “Three is a crowd.” Wade slams in a basket. Allen misfires and the rebound goes to the Heat. Rondo makes a steal that gets kicked out of bounds by his foot. Coach Spoelstra says no home runs, guys, but he didn’t’ say, “no touch downs.” Allen for 3 gets an extra shot due to contact by Chalmers. With 6:57 minutes left in the 4th quarter, Wade fires up and Bosh tags along for the rebound. Boston adds one at the line. But, Bibby responds with 3… Ray Allen misfires sending the ball back to LeBron. Rondo is called for a foul. .. James under attack surrounded by green shirts gets an assist by Bosh and gets the ball in.
Anthony makes a ferocious block as Pierce goes crashing into the camera men on the floor beneath the basket. … Bosh inbounds to Bibby, James’ bounce pass is deflected to Boston, but the Heat in rapid pursuit gets to the ball before it gets to the basket at the other end. The Heat gets their ball back. Boston tries to get a foul but loses the ball to Wade and James goes on for 2. Heat fans applaud as former Heat player Carlos Arroyo # 45 comes off the bench. James hits another 2. (77-96). Heat defense shuts down the Celtics. Wade passes to Howard who shoots for 2. 1:46 seconds, the clock is winding down. Boston gets a 25-second violation. Only 47 seconds left in the game, a layup pushes the score to 100 for a final score 77-100.

4-8-11 Miami Heat v Charlotte Bobcats

Dewayne Wade # 3 is back in the game. Zydrunas Ilgauskas # 11 is back as Center. Bobcats with good ball movement right, left, in and out Dante Cunningham’s 3-point jumper sends the Bobcats up 4 to Miami’s 1. Bosh with a pass to Z at the basket goes in for 2. Wade up and in sweating with 3 minutes in the game. D.J. Augustine,# 14, the 5th best shooter in NBA goes to the line for 2. Wade races down the court and dunks then goes to the floor with a foul sending him to the line. That evens the game at 8.
Bosh dives to the floor after a lose ball he sends to Wade who goes on to the basket. Heat is up by 2. Boris Diaw # 32 for 3 at the corner ties the game at 10-10. Z to Chris Bosh # 1 for a dump and a foul adding 3 (10-13). Bosh jumps high to the rim for a rebound. While Wade stoops low under the arms of his contender taking long strides to the basket drawing a foul. Z with a sharp edge cutting movement throws to Wade who jumps to the basket. Heat takes a lead (10-17). Wade at the foul line adds 2. LeBron snatches a rebound and passes to Bosh. Bosh motions, “Hey ref, he’s in the restricted zone.” The Ref is somewhere under a tree sleeping…Wade flirts with a left to right jumper but does not get a kiss. Bosh runs under the basket saying give me that ball, then up and it’s in. Mike Bibby # 0 in the corner for 3 but it’s in and out, then Wade comes back and does what he does, slams it in. A bounce pass to LeBron James # 6 then passed from LeBron through 3 Bobcats in the paint to Wade under the basket and it’s good. Another Cats turnover – Here we go. Bibby to LeBron for 3 (19-27). Joel Anthon # 50 jumps and gobbles up a rebound that results in a 2 pointer pushing the Heat up 10. (19-29)
As the 1st quarter winds down with 44 seconds remaining a pass from Mario Chalmers # 15 to LeBron in the air sends a nice and nasty right hand throw down slam dunk. Augustine # 14 throws 3 from a distance bringing the 1st quarter to a close.
A steal from Wade; then Mike Miller # 13 for a long 3, saying, “That’s the way we do it up in here.” Joel Anthony # 50 at the other reaches the ball before it reaches the basket, saying, “Not this time.” Dante Cunningham # 44 gets a steal that results in a jump that adds 3 for the Bobcats. The Cats are on the move within 4, they smell a scent. Miller with a steal to Chalmers goes up for 2. Gerald Henderson # 15 answers with 2. Bosh on his way to grandma’s house with the ball in tow is high-jacked with a foul. 8 minutes in the 2nd quarter (32-36) Chalmers gets tangled up on the side and draws a 2nd foul. . . Bosh gets a jumper adding 3. (36-40). Nice bounce pass from Miller to Bosh results in 2. Wade with the ball makes a quick turn and dribbles into a Bobcat sending him to the floor. LeBron leans as he drives to the basket, the car crashes in. The Heat has 24 points in the paint and is shooting fifty percent from the floor. Miller throws up a 3, the rebound by Joel Anthony sends it back to Miller, who sends it goes back to the basket; it’s in and a foul. LeBron leaves his defender frozen as he speeds to the basket. LeBron with a bounce pass between the legs to Mike Bibby # 0 in the corner for 3. LeBron with a steal steadies his balance as he charges to the other end and puts it in. (44-53) Miller is in the right place as a rebound bounces into his hands. The 2nd quarter winds down. (44-53)
A pass from Bibby to Z # 11 is instead taken by Kwame Brown # 54 to the basket. Quarter back LeBron throws a pass as Wade arrives under the basket just in time for a touch down. Wade reverses the ball from right to left back to right then jumps towards the basket and gets the foul for a 3-point play. (52-64). Now it’s Wade’s turn to send a Dan Marino pass to LeBron at the other end, the ball goes flying as LeBron anticipates his antagonist in hot pursuit and lets him go flying by. Then LeBron jumps in the air with a left hand touch down. Cunningham throws for 3. Wade going up to the basket when Kwame # 54 pushes him in the chest with a hard foul and sends Wade whirling through the air and sliding across the floor. Hey ref, that would be a flagrant 1. Should be a 2 but at least a flagrant 1. Wade is assisted off the floor as he holds his right wrist. Meanwhile, Z in the paint adds 2. Wade heads into the paint but is robbed in the zone. The steal takes the ball back down to the Bobcats’ basket. Miller squatting like a cat at the table ready to leap back into the game. LeBron straddles in the paint to combine a 2-pointer with a foul for 3 points. 1:47 remains in the 3rd quarter. Bibby to Miller, LeBron charges in but the ball goes the other way out.
In the 4th quarter Kwame goes up, misses then gets his own rebound and goes back up for 2. Three triples in a row by the Bobcats in the 4th quarter, then Jones answers with 3 from the corner. With 7:38 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter, Bosh heads sideways to the basket, and throws it up and in with a right hand. Wade with the ball slips in the paint and the ball goes flying to Bosh…Wade in a discussion with the official; he is not happy. Jones hits 2 with 3:20 left in the game taking the score to 92-102. LeBron makes a complicated shot with Bobcats clawing all over him. The Heat goes on to its 55th win with a final score of 103-112. The Wade-Bosh-LeBron trio makes a total of 78 points.

4-6-11 Miami Heat v Milwaukee Bucks

Miami starts with a point tipped in by Luc Richard Mbah a Moute # 12 while attempting to get a rebound. Wade is watching the game from the bench. A quick inbound to the Bucks results in a 3-point by Mike Miller #13. That was just in time. A sluggish start for the Heat results in points for the Bucks. Trailing 20-11 LeBron goes to the line and hits 2, hitting his 2,000th point this season. Down 10, Heat’s energy is low as they throw away a ball. (25-15) Keyon Dooling # 55 hits a 3. (28-15)… After colliding with Dooling, Mario Chalmers # 15 then picks his pockets but no basket, while the Bucks score at the other end. (35-21) James Jones # 22 brings relief with 3. Chris Bosh # 1 crashes into Larry Saunders # 8 headed to the basket but ends up in the stands with no score. The Heat is down
35 -27 in the 2nd quarter with 7 minutes left. An offensive foul on Miller causes a turn over. James Jones gets a rebound then fouled by Corey Maggette # 5 sending Jones to the line (35-30). Andres Bogut # 6, the number one shot blocker , stops Mario Chalmers as he goes up to the basket. LeBron James # 6 charging to the rim collides in the paint. LeBon on the move jumps to the basket. A foul called against Chalmers when Maggette # 5’s right arm hits and impacts Chalmers, “That ain’t right.” ( 39-36) Joel Anthony # 50 gets his 4th rebound.
Maggette runs into the back of Mike Bibby # 0 and the foul is called on Bibby. Half time score is 45-40.
Carlos Delfino # 10 triples as shot clock rings, and Miami is within 4. (48-44). Bibby casually hit another 3, like, “This is what I do.” LeBron draws a foul for a 3-point play to tie the score 53-53. Heat turnovers result in lost points. LeBron hits another 3 again tying the score at 61-61. Jwan Howard # 5 ties the score again at 63-63… and the 3rd quarter ends in a tie. Joel Anthony # 50 gets a rebound in the 3rd quarter and scores to put Miami in the lead. (63-65). In the 4th quarter Drew Gooden # 0 grabs Joel Anthony around the collar and is called for a flagrant 2, that is later reduced to a flagrant 1, leaving Gooden in the game. The Heat is turned on in the 4th quarter when the score is again tied. (69-69). Then the bucks turn up the heat knocking first LeBron and then Bosh’s balls out of the basket. Making it into the paint LeBron and Bosh are denied a trip to the basket. Maggette’s foul sends LeBron’s ball flying into the stands. A pass from Bibby sends Bosh into traffic and up to the basket putting Miami in the lead 71-73. Joel Anthony gets his 10th rebound. LeBron opens the window, makes a steal, then looks around aware of the chase, and with quick movement to the side makes it to the basket. The Heat is up 4. At the other end LeBron gets a big bang in the paint sending him to the floor but he gets up and goes to the line… LeBron gets his 3rd rebound and heads to other end panting. Wade on the bench recovering is sorely missed right about now. Brandon Jennings # 3 open for 3 takes the Bucks to a 1-point lead. Chris Bosh up against Mbah a Moute # 12 puts Miami back in the lead by 1. 3:07 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Carlos Delfino # 10 hits a 3-pointer, leaving Miami down by 2. (81-79). 1:46 left in the 4th quarter LeBron drives in and scores but the Heat is trailing by 2. (83-81) Miller gets the rebound. LeBron goes into the paint barreling into Andrew Bogut # 6. At the line, LeBron brings the score back within 2. With 41 seconds, Heat is trailing by 1 (83-82). Then, Delfino hits a 3-pointer with 24 seconds in the game, pushing the Bucks up by 4. (86-82). 11 seconds left, Miami is down by 4. Coach Spolestra scratches his head. LeBron shoots a 3-pointer, bringing the Heat within 3 with 6 seconds. (88-85) The Heat out rebounded the Bucks but the Bucks win with a final score 90-85.

A steal by LeBron to Wade back to LeBron results with a jumper into the basket. LeBron rolls into the paint between two Nets and makes it to the rim. A rebound by Eric Dampier # 25 to Mike Bibby to LeBron who nearly falls but makes it to the rim. Heat leads 13-4 after 4 minutes into the game. A block by Dampier keeps the Nets from scoring … at the other end the Heat gets a fresh shot clock that allows them to score.. . Preparing for the playoffs Dampier gives a slam into the basket (19-6). Tight Heat defense keeps the nets from scoring. LeBron charges into the paint to the basket for 2 (21-6) Travis Outlaw # 21 outlaw gets a jumper for 2. LeBron over a tussle gets the ball into the basket. 7 minutes into the game Anthony Marrow # 22 gets his first score and the Heat gets its first turnover but Wade comes back with 3. Travis Outlaw races to the basket with Wade in pursuit. But, Wade attempting a block gets a knee to his hip and limps out of the game. James Jones # 22 replaces Wade. Heat’s Mario Chalmers # 15 and Mike Miller # 13 are back. Mike Miller # 13 tips in LeBron’s shot (28-13). In the second quarter, Bosh starts to shoot but with Z # 11 under the basket, instead passes to Z who tips it in… Jones snatches down a rebound that results in 3 by Chalmers (36-20). Z # 11 passes to Bosh under the basket who jumps for 2 and draws a foul for a 3-point play (39-20). Heat has a 19 point lead. A pass from Mike Miller to Z # 11 results in a Jump shot by Z on a fade that adds 2…Devon Williams # 8 heads to the basket but is fouled by Mario Chalmers with his 2nd foul. The Net’s first triple comes from Sasha Vujacic # 20 (41-27). With 7 minutes left in the first half a past by Bosh results in a basket by Z # 11. A holding foul on Miller results in a long jump shot by Johan Petro # 27. LeBron double teamed finds Z # 11 who gains 2. Five minutes left in the first half, Jones triples taking the Heat score to 50. A pass from LeBron to Z under the basket , on the 2nd attempt it gets in. LeBron gives a look, “Hey, Bro what’s up.” A steal from Miller to LeBron who dances to the basket with a 360 rotation then throws it up and in. Anthony Marrows # 22 gets a triple. (54-39)… Bosh throws one arm over the head on a jumper gaining 2.… Nets speed up the tempo drawing a foul. LeBron gets a final jumper in the paint as the half time clock goes red with the score 58-44.
In the third quarter, Travis Outlaw # 21 falls out of bounds and collides with the Ref knocking him down. Third quarter Nets turn up a little Heat.
