5-26-11 Playoff Game 5 – Miami Heat v Chicago Bulls

 It’s a bearish night in Chicago but the bulls are running the streets of Miami. From the American Airlines Arena in Miami, the fans send Heat to the United Center in Chicago where the Miami Heat gently trounce upon the Bulls to take the Eastern Conference Championship. Meanwhile, the fans in Miami have a party going on. It’s Ludacris on stage as fans in the streets cheer the Heat on with “Chicken and Beer”. “Word of Mouf” has it that the Miami Heat will be “Back for the First Time” with the 2011 NBA Eastern Conference and Final Championship “Awards”.  It’s a “Red Light District” up in  here.

1st Quarter: Dewayne Wade # 3 at the line puts Miami on the score board behind Chicago 2-4. LeBron James # 6 adds 2 to tie the score 4-4.  Then Chris Bosh # 1 adds his 2 sense to put Miami in the lead 6-4. Now, it’s Wade’s turn again. Keith Bogans # 6 prevents Wade from scoring but sends Wade to the line (8-6). “We’ll take that.” The Bulls are 3 of 10. Bosh makes an attempt into the paint but Chicago’s defense says, “No.” Derrick Rose # 1 at the other end gets the same response, blocked by Anthony, “Not here.” The rebound goes to LeBron who races back down to the other end thinking he would get into the paint. But Luol Deng # 9 defends his turf with heavy artillery sending LeBron sliding across the floor. Miami puts the ball in play. Wade with a jumper from side adds 2 (10-6). A turnover by the Bulls allows LeBron to score (12-6). Bogans advances into the paint for 2. Rose out-of-bounds off Miami. Chicago is headed on a trip to the rim but doesn’t get far, with a call for traveling. Deng’s first attempt to the rim is unsuccessful so he goes back up gets the rebound and puts it in (12-10). As the shot clock goes down, Anthony goes up with a left hand off the glass sending him to the line. Joakim Noah # 13 climbs the stairs for 2, putting Chicago on the heels of Miami (15-14). Deng steals and heads to the clouds, with LeBron on him like glue. Deng goes up with LeBron taking flight with him. The foul goes to LeBron. Rose for 2 in the paint gives the Bulls a lead (15-16). Miami is up 3 games to 1 with 3:13 minutes remaining in the first quarter. Rose is headed out-of-bound but a bounce pass to Noah saves Chicago and adds 2. Carlos Boozer # 5 trying to strip Wade sends Wade to the line (16-20). Deng has more success stripping Udonis Haslem # 40 of the ball but the rebound goes back to Miami. Serves him right. Rose contributes 3, giving him 10 points. LeBron falls away from Noah and hits 2. Deng for 3. Mario Chalmers # 15 is blocked by Rose and Deng gets the rebound. A foul is called on Udonis Haslem. Taj Gibson # 22 with a left-hand shot misses the basket (18-25). LeBron lets the clock run down with seconds in the first quarter then shoots for 3 (21-25).

 2nd Quarter: An offensive foul is called on Kurt Thomas. LeBron does a turnaround jump into the rim (23-25). With a back door pass Kyle Korver # 26 makes 3. Mike Miller # 13 races into the paint for 2. Miller gains a foul.  C. J. Watson # 32 hits 3. James attempts 3 but the rebound goes to Gibson and results in a jumper under the basket for 2 (25-30). Chicago with fast ball movement but no basket. Bosh loses the ball to Korver. Chicago reaches in and steals from Wade. Boozer to Korver for 2 (25-35). Wade gets a ticket for travelling. Rose to Boozer for 2. Rose for 2, no good Anthony for the rebound, Gibson with the foul (25-37). Wade gets another ticket for traveling (next offense will be a felony). Deng’s pass is broken up and goes to the Heat then out-of-bounds, off Chicago’s leg. A pass from Miller, Bosh jumps to the rim (27-37).  LeBron puts a stop to a fade away by Deng. Miller races to the basket but is deflected out-of-bounds. Wade fakes and draws a foul on Deng. At the line Heat advances 2 (29-37). Rose races down court, Wade with the rebound. Miller with a deep 3, Heat is in a race to catch up (29-37). Man down and a foul, Miller goes to the floor and fouls Deng. Bosh is short, tip by Miller adds 2 (34-39). Bosh blocks Boozer and draws the foul. LeBron goes up but gets blocked by Rose. Bosh scores 2. He tries a repeat. Bosh goes up but ends up sliding across the floor fouled by Rose. Rose tries for 2 – it’s a no go, but Brewer tips it in. A foul on Boozer sends Anthony to the line. Boozer says, “Who me?” (38-45). A back door steal by Wade. Chicago traps Miami in the corner. Heat is down 7 at half-time (38-45).

 3rd Quarter: Deng hits 2. Bosh runs through the paint; to the rim for 2 (40-47). Mike Bibby # 0 for 3. Noah attempting over Bosh is no good. Bosh with 2 (42-47). Down 5, LeBron grabs Rose’s rebound but gets fouled by Noah. Boozer gets turned back by Anthony.  Chicago grabs a pass by LeBron, but at the rim Boozer can’t get a dance; rejected by Anthony. Rose shoots for 3 (42-50). Down 8; Heat ball. Bibby to Bosh, Deng saves the rebound to keep it alive. Wade to the rim draws a 3rd foul on Noah. Rose up for 2. A turn over goes to Chicago, then LeBron gets Deng’s rebound. Setting up to shoot a 3-pointer, LeBron steps out-of-bounds. Bogans hits 3. Wade goes up but is stopped by Noah. Rose gets a steal. Boozer grabs Deng’s rebound and draws a foul on Wade (44-55). LeBron goes up with Noah and comes back down with the rebound. Rose strikes LeBron nearly sending him to the floor. Chalmers with 3 (47-57). Heat is down 10. With 2:25 left in the in 3rd Boozer hits LeBron in the face as he elevates to the rim. Boozer gets a flagrant foul called. 2 shots to LeBron and possession to the Heat. A foul on Deng sends Chalmers to the line (50-58). Chicago is called for traveling. Heat ball.  As Bosh goes up a technical foul is called on Gibson.  LeBron at the line adds 1, then Bosh at the line adds 2. Rose drives with the left hand for 2 (53-60). Fans shout defense as LeBron heads home. From behind LeBron is fouled by Brewer but adds 2 at the line. Heading down court when Rose is hit by Chalmers, the ball flips to LeBron.  At the line Rose adds 2. LeBron to Bosh in the corner for 2. The Bulls lead by 5 at the end of the 3rd quarter (57-62).

 4th Quarter: LeBron gets ticketed for travelling. Rose flies a kite for 3 (57-65). LeBron for 3 rims in and out, Miller saves the rebound. LeBron trips and Wade struggles a bad pass is converted by Kurt Thomas # 40 with a jumper. Bosh jumps for 2. Thomas in the corner shoots 3 (59-69). LeBron is fouled as he heads into the paint. At the line he adds 2. Wade goes up for 2 (63-69). Brewer hits 2 with the shot clock running down. 6.5 minutes in the 4th ; Heat gets a 24 second violation (63-71). Thomas is rejected by Bosh. Deng is rejected and fouled by Wade (63-73). Bosh goes up with a near mishap, ball recovered by Miller. Thomas grabs his 6th rebound. 4:38 minutes remain; the Heat is down by 10. Rose attempts but Haslem gets the rebound. LeBron is fouled and comes back empty from the line; Chicago with the rebound. Rose’s attempt is kept alive allowing Brewer to hit 3. 3:53 minutes remain, the Heat is down 12 (64-76). LeBron loses the ball. A foul on Brewer allows LeBron to add 1 at the line (65-76). Fans shout, “Lets Go Bulls,”  with 3:32 remaining. Brewer heads to the rim and draws a foul. At the line he adds 1 (65-77). In Chicago, Miami generates its own heat with Coach Erik Spoelstra as its fan club. Coach Spoelstra is blessed with an amazing voice that never fails and never croaks. Wade runs in for 2 (67-77); 2:49 minutes remain. Chicago’s turnover gives Wade 2 and a foul (69-77). At the line Wade adds one and misses the second but LeBron with the rebound shoots 3 (72-77); 2:04 minutes remain. Chicago’s ball, Rose spins in 2 (72-79). Wade steps back for 3 and draws a foul on Rose (75-79). At the line Wade adds 1. LeBron with a rebound and converts it to 3 to tie the score (79-79). Bulls call time out with 1:01 remaining. Chicago’s in-bound goes to LeBron for 2 giving Miami a 2-point lead with 45 seconds. The Bulls use their final time-out. With 29 seconds Rose draws a foul on LeBron for 1 at the line. The second is a miss.  LeBron grabs the rebound. Miami leads by 1-point with 29 seconds. Bogans fouls Bosh with 16 seconds. At the line Bosh adds 2. Miami maintains a 3-point lead as the shot clock runs down. The final score is 83-80. Miami with 58 wins claims the Eastern Conference Championship against the best team in the league with 62 wins. Former Heat star Alonzo Mourning awards the trophy for the Eastern Conference Championship to the Miami Heat.

5-24-11 Playoff Game 4 – Miami Heat v Chicago Bulls

Quarter 1: Tipoff goes to the Bulls with no score. With Derrick Rose # 1 defending Mike Bibby # 0, Bibby puts the Heat on the scoreboard. Dewayne Wade # 3 steals and makes a beautiful dunk but the ball bounces out. What’s up with that? Joakim Noah # 13 recovers. A foul by Chris Bosh # 1 on Keith Bogans # 6 sends him to the line and allows Chicago to catch up (4-4). A Heat turnover allows Luol Deng # 9 to lay up putting Chicago in the lead (6-4). Rose for 2. A Heat turnover is not converted to a point. Wade shoots a long 2 (8-6). Bosh goes down to the floor. Bogans from the corner makes 3 (11-6). Bosh to Joel Anthony # 50, Luol Deng # 9 attempts to block but gets the foul sending Anthony to the line. He comes back empty (11-6). Chicago turnover, LeBron jumps up and draws a foul on Deng (his 2nd foul). At the line LeBron adds 1. Deng guarding LeBron goes out, Ronnie Brewer # 11 comes in. Intended for Noah, Chicago loses the ball under the basket. Heat ball. Wade with the ball, a foul is called on Carlos Boozer # 5 sending Bibby to the line. Miami is 4 of 8 at the free throw line. Noah with an open shot, no good but rebound to Chicago gives Rose a second open shot, no good but a tip by Noah puts it in (13-8). Rose applies some heat to slam 2-points; a Heat turnover is converted for Chicago. Carlos Boozer # 5 adds 2. Ronnie Brewer # 11 scores and draws a foul on LeBron. At the line he advances Chicago to an eleven point lead (19-8). Chicago’s eleven-point lead is followed by a Heat offensive foul, a Heat loose ball foul, and a Heat personal foul. Bibby getting the rebound from Chicago’s shot at the line allows LeBron to hit a long 2 with 2 on the shot clock. Boozer blocks a shot by Wade knocking the ball away (19-12). LeBron racing against the clock scores a 2-point jumper. A Chicago turnover allows LeBron to make a shot and draw a foul on Omer Asik # 3 with .6 remaining in the first quarter. At the line LeBron adds 2, ending the first quarter score 19-16. All 8 points in the Heat’s 8-0 run were scored by LeBron.

Quarter 2. Bosh running into the paint with a jumper hits 2 and draws the foul to tie the score 19-19. C.J. Watson # 32 with the ball but a steal by Mario Chalmers # 15 for 3. Defensive 3 second violation on Heat sends Kyle Korver #26 to the line (20-22). Asik heads back to the locker room. Chalmers steals and races to the rim but is grabbed from behind by # 26. Holding Chalmers around waist keeping him from falling into the stands. Chicago ball Deng gets inside with 2. LeBron coming down court, Watson deflects the ball out of bound (22-23). Mike Miller #13 hits 3 putting Miami back in the lead 24-26. Watson with a drive adds 2. Chalmers goes up for 2 putting Miami up by 2. Chalmers races down court adding 2. Gibson is called with a second foul as Chalmers jumps to the rim to shoot. A rebound from Wade sets Bosh up for 3 from the corner (28-31). Watson dribbles off the foot of Noah causing a turnover to the Heat. Udonis Haslem # 40 rims in & out. Noah with the rebound. Noah tips but Bosh with the rebound. Wade against Korver. Miller for 3. Ball deflected out-of-bounds last touched by Noah. Haslem with a rebound gets fouled by Noah. At the line Haslem adds 2 (28-33). Rose sending Haslem #40 to the floor gets called with an offensive foul. Trapped by 3 defenders Wade penetrates the paint and comes back with 2 (28-35). Fouls on Rose, Deng and Gibson. Wade flips the ball up and around into the basket. Miami with a 9-0 run, Chicago calls time out. Heat ball. Down but not out, LeBron on the floor passes to Haslem who is blocked. At the other end LeBron says, “Let me show you how we roll, take that,” as he takes a tandem leap into the clouds alongside Rose and blocks Rose’s intended slam. An offensive foul is called on LeBron as he spins and heads to the basket, sending Korver to the line for 2. Noah with tight defense guarding LeBron backs him out-of-bounds, as the shot clock runs down. The heat in the American Airlines Arena intensifies. Korver with a pass that is turned over to Wade nearly sending Wade out-of-bounds, is saved with a pass to Haslem but taken away by Noah sending Boozer racing down the court with a slam dunk (34-37). Chalmers over Kyle Korver # 26 hits 3 (34-40). Noah running pass Haslem gets a foul called on Haslem. Deng hits 3 (37-40). Rose intensifies the heat, racing into the paint with a dunk and drawing a foul on Chalmers to tie the game. Wade draws a foul on Noah. At the line Wade puts the Heat back in the lead (40-42). Applying more heat Rose races into the paint to dunk over Joel Anthony and adds 1 at the line to put Chicago in the lead. Anthony under basket with a pass from Chalmers gets hammered by Korver. At the line Anthony adds 2 to put Miami in the lead. Deng hits a long 3. James for 3 is no good – Wade attempting to save ends up among the photographers on the floor. 11 seconds before half time. Chicago, leading by 2 with the ball, attempts to run the clock down but a steal by Mike Miller runs the clock out.

Derrick Rose with 10 points says he will keep attacking at both ends.
LeBron with 12 points leads first half points.

Quarter 3: LeBron hits 2. Noah’s attempt to score is rejected by LeBron. Bibby’s pass is picked off by Noah and sent to Deng at the rim, giving Chicago back its lead (48-46). Chicago defense causes 24 sec violation. An offensive foul on Deng # 9 sends Bosh crashing to the floor. Under the basket Noah picks up his 3rd foul sending Bosh to the line adding 2 to tie the score at 48. Boozer sets up for Deng to score in the paint. A loose ball allows Deng 3, and then Heat out-of-bounds gives Deng 2 more (55-48). 3 early turnovers by Miami give Bulls a 7-point lead. Bibby goes down to the floor but comes back and hits 3. Bosh steps back with tight defense and hits 2. Boozer’s rebound goes to Wade (57-53). Rose racing down court draws a foul on Bibby followed by a Boozer lay-up puts Chicago up by 6 (59-53). LeBron shoots over Noah 59-55. Boozer shoots 2 over 3 heat defenders (61-55). Bosh goes up but comes down with an offensive foul. A bounce pass to Deng with a rebound to Noah ends up in a scuffle on the floor and jump ball. Anthony jumping for the Heat sends the ball to Wade. His jump for 3 is no good, instead Rose it inside to the basket (63-55). A pass intended to Boozer turns over to the Heat. (Chicago’s 13th turnover). Shot clock down to 6 Anthony passes to Bosh who hits 2. Time out bulls. Boozer into the paint draws Anthony’s 3rd foul. At the line Boozer adds 1 (65-57). LeBron into the paint adds 2 (65-59). Boozer’s drive is rejected by Anthony. 24 second violation. Ball back to the Heat. Miller goes up for LeBron’s rebound and gets hammered by Bogans. LeBron and Bogans both end on the floor. LeBron, a good sportsman extends a hand to help Bogans up from the floor. At the line LeBron adds 2. A pass from Rose to Gibson ends up a pass from Miller to James who slams into the basket talking trash all the way, “Take that.” Giving hi fives all the way to Granma’s house. Deng gets out the way. A ball intended for Boozer is deflected out-of-bounds by Haslem. Chicago’s inbound allows Rose to hit a long 3. Third quarter score ends 68-63.

Quarter 4: Defensive 3 called on Miami. LeBron sings his way into the paint for 2 (69-65). Rose jumps for 3 but no good, at the other end Miller’s 3 is good – that brings Miami within 1 (69-68). With a wild pass, Noah under the basket is able to score (71-72). Twisting his way to the basket Rose is fouled by Anthony picking up his 4th foul. Rose at the line Chicago takes a lead. Wade saves Heat ball with a fade away. Deng shoots off-balance with the shot clock down to 3. Noah’s 4th foul sends Bosh to the line for 2. Deng loses ball but is fouled by Wade. A hard foul by Boozer sends Bosh twirling through the air with arms flying as he falls to the floor. Now that’s a flagrant foul. Heat ball. Miller hits 3 to put Miami in the lead 77-78. Rose to Boozer rolls into the paint and gains a foul on, is it Miller, no Bosh picks up his 5th foul. Bulls steal from Haslem. Shot clock violation on Chicago with 3:37 minutes in the 4th quarter. Miami down by 2. Miller races into the paint for 2 to tie the score. Noah hits Haslem sending him to the floor and to the line and Noah picks up his 5th foul. The score is tied with 2:45 minutes left. A rebound to the Bulls sends Rose racing to the basket with 2. LeBron responds with 2 and the foul, Boozer’s 3rd. Miami up by 1 with 2 minutes, Rose loses the ball on the dribble when the clock runs down. Brewer is fouled by Mike Miller. Chicago is leading by 1 point. Bosh for 2 puts Miami in the lead by 1. Chicago ball, 1:14 seconds, Heat up by 1. Rose elevating to the basket draws a foul. The ball rims in and out. Rose goes to the line but comes up empty. The score tied at 85, Chicago’s ball with 50 seconds to play. Rose misses the shot the rebound goes to Miller. With 23 seconds the score is tied. Both teams are over the foul limit. What, an offensive foul on James, even LeBron is surprised. Chicago ball 8 seconds. Rose misses and the game goes into overtime.
One minute into over-time neither team has scored. Bosh finally adds 2 at the line. Wade goes up but the ball is knocked out by Boozer. Bosh goes up for 2 (85-89). Brewer for 3 to bring Chicago within 1 (88-89). LeBron to Wade with a step back adds 2 (88-91). Boozer is fouled by Haslem sending Boozer to the line where he makes one and misses the second. The rebound to LeBron sends him into the paint for 2 (89-93). With 1:36 seconds remaining in over-time, Chicago’s in-bound goes out-of-bounds. A turn over by Rose to Wade sends Wade into the paint with 2. The fans are on their feet with a minute remaining in over-time and the heat up by 6. Rose races down to the basket but Wade makes a determined rejection. 14 seconds in over-time Heat lead by 8. Korver hits 2 (93-99). 6 seconds remain. Chicago grinds it out all the way to the finish line. LeBron is chased all the way to the back court where he is fouled by Noah who fouls out. At the line LeBron takes the score pass 100 hitting his 35th point. Heat wins with a final score 93-101.

5-22-11 Playoff Game 3 – Miami Heat v Chicago Bulls

Chicago Bulls lose consecutive games to the Miami Heat. The game starts with a Heat jump ball that goes out of bound with a last touch by Chicago. Miami’s inbound goes to Chicago but heat gets the ball back. LeBron James # 6 to Dewayne Wade # 3 with a sleeve on his left elbow, Wade hits 2 from the corner. Luol Deng # 9 gets a bounce-pass from Joakim Noah # 13 and scores. At the other end Noah gets the rebound. Deng surrounded by tight defense hits a long 2 as the shot clock runs out. LeBron James shoots 3 (7-4). LeBron steals then a pass to Wade but Wade is striped of the ball. LeBron a/k/a, the train won’t take that. The train is gaining speed on his contender. “Watch out LeBron the run-way is running out.” LeBron is racing, headed straight into the stands. He needs some toe stoppers. Rose out-of-bounds turns the ball over to the Heat. A pass from LeBron to Joel Anthony # 50 under the basket sends Joel jumping to the rim. LeBron heads into the paint to Bosh under the basket. (11-15).

Rose heads to the basket but is blocked, Boozer slips and it’s Wade’s ball – then Chicago takes it back. LeBron races down the court behind the offense. LeBron says, “Don’t even try it.” Hearing the footsteps on his tail, the offense knows not to attempt this basket; instead he circles under the basket. Boozer heads up to the rim but a block by LeBron stops Boozer at the rim. Anthony protects the rim but Chicago’s second attempt is good. Heat ball. Wade hits 2 off the glass (13-17) with 1:52 remaining in the 1st Quarter. Shot clock down to 1, LeBron is forced to shoot for 3, no good. Rose to Deng but under the basket he faces a block by Anthony. LeBron to Anthony under basket. A foul sends Anthony to the line gaining 1. The first quarter ends (15-18).

The 2nd quarter begins with an attempt by Bosh to the rim but he loses the ball out-of-bounds. LeBron snatches the rebound from Watson’s shot. Mario Chalmers # 15 connects with 2 (17-20). Omer Asik # 3 is off, rebound to Chalmers. Kick ball by Taj Gibson # 22 sends the ball out-of-bounds. Heat ball. Bosh to line no basket but a foul. Gibson heads to the basket but a travelling violation turns the ball over to the Heat. (17-21). A pass from LeBron sends Bosh spinning around Gibson’s yapping. Bosh signals to Gibson, “Get out of here.” Boozer hits a long 2. Bosh hits 3 from the corner giving Miami a 6-point lead (19-25). Boozer gains 2 over tight defense. Chicago ball. Boozer # 5 goes to rim. Bosh from a distance hits 2. Boozer hits 2 (25-27). Heat ball Chalmers bounce pass to Bosh skips into the paint for 2. Kyle Korber # 26 hits 3 (28-29). Chalmers gets through triple defense to the rim for 2. Watson hits 3 (30-31). Wade chases the ball to the floor and a quick pass to Mike Miller # 13 also on the floor. A time-out saves the ball. Joel Anthony # 50 with a rebound throws a bounce pass to Wade who dives with a slam (30-33). Heat steals, but a turn over sends the ball back to the Bulls without a score. LeBron gets the rebound. A bounce pass to Bosh sends him to the rim with his 14th point (30-35). Foul on Wade. Shot clock at 5, Brewer hits 2 (32-35). Chalmers is fouled as he heads into the paint. At the line he gains 2. Rose hits 2. Udonis Haslem # 40 with the rebound but Wade ends up in the stands. Out-of-bounds by Anthony. Boozer charges into Haslem sending Haslem to the floor. Wade with a fade away jumper adds 2 (34-39). Rose comes up short, rebound to LeBron, ball goes out-of-bounds. A pass from Noah to Boozer is blocked by Anthony who draws a foul. Bosh adds 2 at the rim. Rose running towards the paint hits LeBron, drawing a foul and making the basket. A foul called on Korbert # 26 sends LeBron to the line with 2 shots. Heat leads with 5 (38-43). Rose races into the paint hits a body block by Anthony. At the line Rose adds 2. LeBron lets the clock run down to 6 seconds then races into the paint but Asik stops the basket. Half time score is 40-43.
Charles Barkley experienced the heat when he sported a Bulls jersey outside American Airlines Arena filled with Heat fans.

Wade starts the 3rd quarter shooting 2. Bosh is putting tight defense all over the Bulls’ offense. Haslem gets the rebound and Bosh hits 3 (42-47). Chicago loses the ball but Rose comes back and scores to bring Chicago within 3 (44-47). Bosh grabs at Chicago’s ball resulting in a jump ball that goes to Chicago. Rose hits 3 to tie the score 47-47. Mike Bibby # 0 comes back and hits 3. Boozer hits 2 and comes back with the rebound. Rose jumps for 2 to take Chicago into the lead. Keith Bogans # 6 pushes then continues to yap at Wade. Instead of getting mad, Wade gets glad. At the line he adds 1. The rebound goes to Chicago but at the other end Bibby grabs their rebound. Bosh heads to the rim but encounters Bogans and goes to the line instead. Bosh adds 2 at the line. Noah to Boozer slams one to tie 53-53. LeBron with the ball, Noah deflects it out-of-bounds. Bibby hits 3 to take Miami back into the lead. An offensive foul by # 9 sends LeBron to the floor. Chicago races down the court but an offensive foul on Noah gives him a 3rd foul. Bosh hits 3. Racing against the shot clock, Bogan comes up short. A lose ball foul call on Anthony gives him a 3rd foul. Rose for 3 is no good and Bosh with the rebound results in 2 by Haslem. Fouled by LeBron, Omer Asik # 3 is out with a limp. Noah is in with a shot clock violation. Haslem hits 2 (57-66). Deng # 9 hits 3 from the corner. LeBron responds with 3 (60-68). Deng hits 3 with 5 seconds left in the 3rd quarter. Miami’s inbound is turned over but Chicago misses the basket. Miami leads by 3 at the end of the third quarter (65-68).

Coming back in the 4th quarter Miami turns over its first possession. Gibson heads up to the basket but gets rejected by Haslem. At the line Gibson adds 1. LeBron steps back with 3 (66-70). Gibson gets a 24 second violation (66-70). Bosh throws up a right-handed hook. Ronnie Brewer # 11 gets a quick pass and jumps to the rim (68-72). Bosh responds with 2 (68-74). Brogan #22 hits 2 (70-74). 8 minutes remain. A push by Noah gains him an offensive foul, his 4th foul. With 3:35 remaining in the 4th quarter Noah picks up a 5th foul. Carlos Boozer # 5 gets stopped from behind by Bosh. Gibson hits 2 (78-89). Deng hits 2 (80-89). 2:41 minutes remain, Gibson hits 2 (82-89). LeBron responds with 2 (82- 91). 1: 54 minutes, Gibson tips one in (84-91). Haslem with a jumper, it’s good. LeBron races against the shot clock, the out-of-bound is last touched by a Bull. LeBron shoots and gets the ball back with seconds to play letting the clock run down until he is fouled by Deng. The heat wins with a final score of 84-96.

5-18-11 Playoff Game 2 Miami Heat v Chicago Bulls

At the United Center in Chicago Udonis Haslem # 40 brings the Heat’s court to life. Carlos Boozer # 5 makes contact with Chris Bosh # 1 in the act of shooting, sending Bosh to the line. Joel Anthony # 50 picks up an early foul sending Carlos Boozer to the line. (6-2) A Heat turnover comes right back to the Heat when it goes out of bound off Chicago. Keith Bogans # 6 steals from the Heat and races down court to tie the score 8-8. Derrick Rose # 1 shoots then gets his own rebound. With double defense on Rose the Bulls miss their first 9 shots but come back strong. Jamaal Magiore # 21 slams over Chicago defense (10-9). With a rebound from Bosh, LeBron James # 6 takes it to the hoop (12-9). Dewayne Wade # 3 picks up his first foul with 5:27 minutes remaining in the first quarter but Chicago fails to convert it to a point. Wade runs into the paint and gets 2. LeBron takes a pass from Mike Bibby and slams but it rims back out. Chicago gets the rebound and Luol Deng # 9 slams it in at the other end. Rose tips into the paint with 2 and ties the score 15-15. Rose picks up a 2nd foul. A turnover to Chicago gives an opportunity to score. (15-19). Heat’s 2nd turnover allows Deng to jump into the paint and score (15-21). Miami is getting warmed up with a steal, a rebound, and a slam that miss the mark and result in no score. A block by Taj Gibson # 22 prevents the Heat from scoring but Mike Miller # 13 gets the rebound and scores. Deng hits from center court as the clock rings zero (19-26). The Heat gains some momentum from an offensive foul on Asik, and Deng picking up another foul. After nearly losing the ball and the shot clock down to 1, LeBron recovers to hit 3. Haslem goes to the line for 2 (25-28). Ronnie Brewer # 11 draws a foul on Wade, his 2nd, giving Chicago a 4-point lead. (26-30). Bibby to Bosh. A steal by Brewer sends the race to the other end.
LeBron sends a lob pass to Wade at the rim to tie the score 32-32. Rose hits a long 2. Wade says, “don’t feel so all alone, I’ve got 2 of my own,” as he dances into the paint to bring the score back to a tie (34-34). Rose comes back with a new step into the paint for 2. But Wade won’t be out done, with a jumper he adds 2 to keep the score tied. Noah shoots for 2. Bibby hits 3 (39-41). With 20 seconds in the first half LeBron jumps into the paint to add 2. Shooting 52 percent, Miami leads the first half 48-46. Wade with 17 points, James with 14 and Bosh with 6. The Bulls shoot 38 percent. Only Deng of the Bulls has double figures with 11 points.
In the third quarter Rose shoots for 3. Noah with a rebound, passes to Boozer for 2 (48-50). A pass from LeBron to Bosh goes up for 2 and ties the score 50-50. Noah is called with a third foul.
During a timeout the heat gets ready for hand-to-hand combat. With good ball movement, touching 5 hands, Bosh hits a 2-pointer with 3 on the shot clock. At the other end, Bosh saves the ball. James speeds to the basket and is fouled on his way up. A foul on Haslem sends Rose to the line with 2 (57-56). Now, Rose’s attempt to shoot is rejected by Haslem; no basket and the foul (60-56). LeBron steals Noah’s pass and draws a foul on Deng. LeBron at the line sends Miami up 63-56. A loose ball sends Wade to the rim with 2 (65-56). Udonis Haslem brings the court the life as he takes a pass from Bibby and slams it into the basket. His momentum takes him rolling out of court in a flip (67-56). Rose responds with a long 2 (67-58). Chicago misses but gets the rebound and Rose races into the paint drawing a second foul on Mike Miller. At the line, Rose scores 2 and reduces the Heat’s lead to 7 (67-60). Brewer is open for a long 2. Haslem shoots for 2. Omer Asik # 3 gets a basket and the foul with a minute left in the third quarter. Bibby shoots with 1 on the shot clock. Miami leads by 6 (71-65)
Gibson draws a 3rd foul on LeBron. A shot by Wade rims out but Bosh gets the rebound. With tight defense Deng goes up. Miller gets a 3rd foul. Gibson with a 3-pointer brings Chicago within 2 (71-69). Miller hands the ball off to Haslem who jumps to the rim (73-69). Rose is hit by Haslem sending Rose to the line. With 7:39 minutes in the 4th quarter a pass from Rose to Gibson ties the score 73-73.
A block under the chin leaves Wade and Asik bleeding. With Wade down LeBron steps up and hits 3 (76-73). With the shot clock at 3 LeBron hits 2, giving Miami a 5-point lead with 3:14 minutes left in the 4th quarter (78-73). The mental and physical endurance of both teams are tested. Surrounded by 3 Heat jerseys Gibson takes a bounce pass from Rose and draws a foul on Wade. At the line Wade gets the rebound and draws a 4th foul on Noah resulting in a 5-point game for Miami (80-75). Deng turns Chicago’s ball over to LeBron with 1:47 minutes. James first attempt is no good but he gets the rebound and goes back up for 2 (82-75). On Chicago’s next possession, Rose comes up short. Chicago fans drop their heads as James hits a 3-pointer with seconds to play and Miami’s lead increases to 9 (84-75). A foul by Kyle Korver # 26 sends Wade to the line with a final point. Heat wins the game 85-75.

5-15-11 Playoff Game 1 Miami Heat v Chicago Bulls

The Heat starts out strong with LeBron James # 6 in his 83rd playoff game, stripping Luol Deng # 9 then passing to Dewayne Wade # 3 for the Heat’s first score. A 2nd steal from Derrick Rose # 1 takes the score to 4-zip. Rose comes back to add Chicago’s first 5 points. Chris Bosh # 1 throws over Joakim Noah # 13 but the rebound goes to Carlos Boozer # 5. Then Boozer cleans up for Derrick Rose. Deng’s pass is picked off by Joel Anthony # 50. Boozer comes back and gets a pass then takes it to the rim.
Noah sneaks into the paint while the Heat is sleeping. Despite triple defense Chris Bosh # 1 makes it to the rim. LeBron jumps to block Noah at the rim but Noah anticipating LeBron on his trail waits then jumps and draws a foul on LeBron. At the line Noah’s curve ball bounces out. Mike Bibby # 0 knocks down 2. Rose answers with 2. Wade against Noah adds 2 (23-17). Ronnie Brewer #11 hits 2 from the corner, a thumb injury does not hamper his shooting. Double defense does not stop Rose from charging pass Wade into the paint. Rebound to Mike Miller # 13. Jump shot by Bosh is good (25-22). Taj Gibson # 22 hits over Wade (25-24) and draws the foul, adding 1 at the line. Rookie, Omar Asik # 3, second round draft pick gets into the paint and throws down to tie the score 29-29. Jamaal Magloire # 21 is wide open jumps and misses but goes back up and cleans up. Chalmers buckets 2 (34-30). Pass to LeBron is batted away but Heat keeps the ball. LeBron fires 3 (36-30). A pass from Noah to Luol Deng # 9 in the corner adds 3. Bosh tips in for 2. Wade steals and sends a long pass that sends LeBron out of bounds. Boozer cleans up Noah’s spin shot (38-35). Deng hits Anthony in the paint sending him to the floor but Anthony gets up and goes to line to add 1 (42-40). A long 3 gets cleaned up by Noah who is wide open under the basket. Heat energy is wearing down and Chicago defense is teaming up on LeBron. Noah rims in and out allowing Bosh with a rebound to drive to the rim. Rose responds with a long 2 to tie the score (46-46). 3rd foul on Bosh sends Deng to line for 2. 18 seconds before half-time Chicago leads by 2. LeBron hits a long 2 to tie the score at half time (48-48).
At half time Bosh leads scoring with 17, Wade 12 James 10; Rose leads Chicago scoring 12, Deng 11, Boozer 8. In the first half Heat shoots 48% Chicago shoots 43%. But returning from half time, Chicago has gained energy lost by the Heat. Rose hits 3 with the shot clock at 3. Heat turns over to Chicago. Bosh steps in the paint and gains 2. Boozer hits as the shot clock winds down (50-55). Wade up and in adds 2 then grabs the rebound from Boozer’s fade away. It’s on between Bosh and Boozer. Bosh says, “Check me out,” as he breezes to the rim. Noah’s energy outshines them all. His jump shot is short but on the rebound, he tips it in. Wade goes up for 2 (56-57). LeBron jumps a fade away (58-57). Deng misses 3 but gets the rebound. Bogan gets the rebound. Rose gets 3. Heat tips into the paint for 2. Bogan from downtown adds 3 (58-63). D. Wade is stripped of the ball and Rose goes flying by Anthony who picks up a foul. 5:15 minutes remain in the 3rd quarter. Heat is distracted, lacks focus.
“Hey guys, there’s a basket ball game going on over here. Can you help me out?” Wade gets batted out by Noah. Noah glides up over 3 black jerseys, giving the Bulls a 9-point lead.
Back court violation, Heat not paying attention. “Hey, can somebody ring the bell and let them know the game has started.” Noah headed to the rim passes Wade and Bosh but gets rejected by Anthony, who says, “Not on my watch.”
With tight defense, Bosh puts his ear to Noah’s heart. “I’ll bet he hears the pounding of the mother earth saying, “I want that ring.”
Rose with a fade away over Bosh. LeBron with the ball, a reaching foul is called on Deng. Bosh out, James Jones in. Noah guards James Jones. Now, Noah falls asleep and Jones hits 3. (61-67). Keith Bogans # 6 comes up short and LeBron gains the rebound but it’s deflected out by Deng off LeBron’s foot. Rose with the rebound Chicago leads by 6 (61-67). James goes up to the rim but Gibson gets a piece of the ball. Bulls out jump the Heat for the rebound. At the other end Wade gets the rebound but is fouled by Ronnie Brewer # 11. No rest for the weary. Bulls out score the Heat 24 to 15 in 3rd quarter.
LeBron comes back in the 4th quarter and hits 3 (66-74). Shot clock at 2 Deng misses but gets the rebound to add 2 (66-75). Steal by Brewer sends Chalmers in hot pursuit and gains a foul from behind. The crowd is getting sleepy in the 4th quarter (66-80). Even the Ref is somewhere else. LeBron is called for a foul. “What?” says LeBron, “It wasn’t me.” He’s right. The foul is on Chalmers. “I stand corrected,” the ref retracts.
Bosh with the rebound. “Shoot. Shoot, time is running out.” Wade misses. Loul comes back with 3. “O my God, Bulls lead by 19 (80-99). LeBron for 3, he misses. 2.5 minutes remain. “Stop passing and start shooting.” Too late, the Bell rings, end of game. Final score 103-82. “Get some sleep for Wednesday night.”

5-11-11 Playoff Game 5 Miami Heat v Boston Celtics

The fans in Miami are ecstatic as the Heat takes a 4-1 lead over Boston to eliminate Boston in the Playoffs. Rajon Rondo # 9 plays with a left arm band but the one arm bandit is effective putting the ball up with his right hand. In the first quarter, Dewayne Wade # 3 drives in, penetrating the paint to over take Boston at the rim. Paul Pierce # 34 with a foul. Inbound by Delonte West goes out of bound. First quarter ends with Boston leading 24-16. In the second quarter a poke in the eye leaves Wade squinting. With 1:53 remaining in the 2nd quarter Ray Allen # 20 throws a 3 all the way from Boston. The third quarter winds down with triple triples. LeBron hits 3 (68-69). Jeff green responds with 3 (71-69). Wade dives for 2 and swings from the rim (71-71). Nenad Krstic # 4 hits 3 from the corner (73-71). Celtics lead by 2 at the end of the third quarter. The heat turns up in the 4th quarter. Three green jerseys surround LeBron. West trips in the paint as Bosh picks up a 3rd foul (79-72). With 9 minutes to play the Heat is down 7 points while O’Neal and Rondo are down with a bad back. Wade gets inside to add 2 (79-74). Boston responds. West spirals into the paint for 2. West is cornered by double defense…Anthony gets the rebound that results in 2. LeBron for 2 (81-76). Boston’s 14th turnover comes as West loses the ball out of bound (81-76).Bosh for 2 (81-78). Trying to hang on to its lead, West climbs over Bosh and adds 2 (83 78). Wade picks up a foul against Garnette (83 79). Miami is down by 5. A foul by 4 sends Wade to the line then James Jones hits 3 (87-85) bringing Miami within 2 with 3:43 in the 4th quarter. Bosh steps in to tie the score at 87, with 2:47 minutes remaining. The crowd in American Airlines Arena shouts, “Defense.” LeBron throws some offense from the corner to add 3. A rebound to Bosh and a Boston turnover puts Miami in the lead by 3 (87-90) in the final 59 seconds of the game. LeBron seals the lead with a 3-pointer over Pierce, then a steal and dunk. An offensive foul by West then LeBron makes a final appearance in the paint for 2 points that seals the Heats wind and sends the Heat to the next round of the playoffs.

5-9-11 Playoff Game 4 – Miami Heat v. Boston Celtics

Boston has the advantage of experience but the Miami Heat in the City of Boston takes a 3 to 1 lead in playoff game 4.

Wired, Coach Doc Rivers tells the team, “Work as hard as you can.” Rajon Rondo # 9 plays like a machine with an injured arm, his performance does not indicate he is injured. When interviewed at half time, Rondo says, “I’m not fatigued, I’m not hurt at all, I’m, here to play.” Throughout the night, while attempting to score LeBron and Wade battle triple defense in the paint. Both sides have double-digit turnovers. Mario Chalmers # 15 hits a triple in the first quarter then LeBron steals and goes on for a dunk. Shaquille O’Neal # 36 and Udonis Haslem # 40 both get a few minutes of play. After trailing most of the game, the Heat steps up their game and over takes Boston in the 4th quarter to take the game into overtime. Heat goes on to win with a final score 98-90.

5-7-11 Playoff Game 3 – Miami Heat v Boston Celtics

Shaquille O’Neal # 36 gets his first score to advance the Celtics up seven over the Miami Heat. (20-27). Chris Bosh # 1 is hit in the eye, but the Heat does not lose the ball. Mario Chalmers # 15 for 3 gives the Heat its first lead 36-34. Joel Anthony # 50 with a total of 10 points is jumping to the rim and looking like a junior Dewayne Wade in blocking training. Chalmers is hustling to catch the offender and push Miami into the lead (38-34). Heat is up 6 and the building is quiet (40-34). Wade driving to the basket gets a hard foul as his body crashes into Paul Pierce # 34. At the line, Wade takes Miami back to the lead (42-41). Miami defuses Boston’s offense and erases an 11-point lead to end the first half ahead. Jermaine O’Neal # 7 gets the crowd stirred up. (50-58). Kevin Garnett # 5 sneaks into the paint and flips one up. Wade gets caught up with Rajon Rondo # 9 as Wade loses the ball out of bound but Rondo comes down hard grabbing his left arm. 5-3-11 Playoff Game 2 – Miami Heat v Boston Celtics

“I don’t know what you came to do.” Miami came to win. The Celtics gain the lead then put double defense on the Heat in the paint. Heat’s pump fake, up-down-up to the basket doesn’t work because the Celtics has one defender on the up, then a second defender waiting for Dewayne Wade # 3 when he comes back up a second time – Chris Bosh # 1 puts Miami on the score board.(2-2) Kevin Garnett # 5 jumps over Zydrunas Ilgauskas # 11 and throws 2. A lose-ball with a 3-second violation turns the ball over from the Celtics to the Heat. (4-2). At the basket, Celtics is stripped by LeBron James # 6 and Wade at the other end scores. Boston responds with a quick score. (6-4). Some fast action as Bosh strips the ball… Jermaine O’Neal # 7 pushes Bosh in the chest. At the line, O’Neal # 7 adds 1. Mike Bibby # 0 throws 3 from the corner (9-7). Wade picks up his first foul and Paul Pierce # 34 takes a long shot for 3 (12-7). Chris Bosh jumps and fouls O’Neal. Wade heads to the basket. Now O’Neal picks up his 2nd foul. LeBron makes off with the goods but on the pass, Rajon Rondo # 9 steals the goods back but… not for long. Out of bonds turns the goods back to the original thief and Wade converts the goods for a sale at the rim. The score is 12-12. Glen Davis # 11 under the basket jumps for 2. (14-12). Wade throws up to the rim then jumps up to tip the basket in. (14-14).

Former Heat player Shaquille O’Neal sits on the bench on one end and at the other is Udonis Haslem # 40 both dressed in stylish suits while 18,000 fans cheer on the Heat. Defense, Defense. Let’s Go Heat. Let’s Go Heat. Kevin Garnett # 5 misses and Wade mops up the rebound. Now it’s LeBron James against Rondo, but Garnett with the rebound. The Ref calls a goal tend – the catamount mountain lion is extinct in many areas of the world but not in the American Airlines Arena. Cougar Chris Bosh # 1 demonstrates his prowess as he jumps up and bats the ball away from the rim. “I’ll show you some defense.” Now, Wade, with a keen eagle eye comes back and says, “I’ll show you some offense,” as he slams the ball into the basket. Although the basket does not count, Joel Anthony goes to the line for 2. Anthony defends his territory keeping Kevin Garnett at a distance from the rim so Garnett jumps with a fade away from Anthony for 2 (19-16). A quarter back pass from Wade sends LeBron flying like Harry Potter on his broom to the basket with a layup that is uncontested (19-18). Garnett against Anthony, the ball hits the glass. LeBron comes into the paint with one thing on his mind. He slips and nearly loses his balance on his way to his intended goal but his momentum keeps him moving forward right to the basket. He demonstrates the art of falling into your goal. Rondo jumps but no score. Then LeBron follows suit. Now, Rondo has readjusted and takes it to the rim (21-20). Mike Bibby shoots his second 3-pointer (21-23). At one end of the floor, we have what may be a foot sprain. Jeff Green # 8 makes a quick jump to the basket. A pass to LeBron offers a reply (23-25). Bibby is playing his fiddle on defense. Ray Allen # 20 turns over to Bibby who passes to LeBron. It’s on now – the train is headed into the station then to the rim with 2, but LeBron takes a hit from Ray Allen. Rondo jumps from the corner but misses 3 as the 1st quarter ends with the Heat in the lead (26-27).

Zydrunas # 11 gets twisted with Jermaine Rondo # 7 and both go down as Z grabs his right ankle. Tight defense on Wade forces a turnover. Glen Davis makes an attempt so Mike Miller demonstrates how to hit a 3. Miler comes back at the other end with a rebound. Rondo charges into the paint but Miller takes a hard hit that results in a charge call on Rondo. Still a little dazed from the hit Mike Miller loses the ball on a pass. Delonte West # 13 hits 3(29-30). Anthony sends the ball to Bosh who is fouled by Davis and adds 1 at the line. There goes a streak of lightening. It’s Mike Miller a/k/a Miller Light streaking across the floor with speed – definitely an asset because when Mike is on, it is because of his speed. However, his speed is also his Achilles’ heel because when Mike runs faster than I can think, it gets him in foul trouble. Green sneaks into the paint to tie the score 31-31. Delonte West throws a long 3 to tie the score 33-33. Bosh is pushed by Baby Davis, thank you very much, and that adds 1 at the line (33-34). Bosh gets a rebound but Wade is stripped by Delonte West. Adding some defense Wade picks up his first foul. Another rebound to Bosh, now the Doc has to take a 20-second time out. Pierce misses a long shot for 3 and the rebound goes to Bibby (36-34). LeBron challenges Pierce with daring enthusiasm all the way into the paint. Pierce gets a foul that sends LeBron to the line. Shot clock at 7. LeBron misses but Bosh runs and cleans it up. 36-39. James Jones # 22 says, “I’m not leaving,” as he stays glued to Pierce forcing the shot clock down to zero. Fans shout, “Let’s go Heat. “ The Heat is on. James Jones is in hot pursuit behind and tracking Allen’s every step. Behind Jones is LeBron also tracking Allen. All three head up to the basket as LeBron extends a defensive arm towards Allen to stop the basket. Gravity pulls all 3 down – Allen then Jones, then LeBron, but LeBron is tangled up with Jones on the floor. The foul sends Allen to the line. A fade shot by Wade adds 2 (38-41). Wade dances into the paint putting on a show, “Now you see me, now you don’t. You can’t stop this,” as Garnett gets his third foul. The fans point to Garnett, “You’re out of here.” At the line, Wade adds 1. (38-44) Rondo hits 2. Heat ball Wade races down the line as the clock for half time winds down. A third foul on James Jones with less than a second on the clock sends Rondo to the line to shoot 2. First half Heat is up by 5 (42-47).

Ray Allen picks up his second foul on a pass from LeBron that sends Wade to the line. LeBron with the rebound to Z for 2 (43-51). Allen races into the paint. Pierce is open for 2. Bosh over O’Neal throws a jumper in. Big Baby dumps in 2. Z bats one out and Bibby with the rebound back to Wade who goes to the line adding 2. On the rebound, Z picks up a second foul sending O’Neal to the free throw line for 1. Bibby gets by in to the paint for 2. Garnett over Bosh pushes the Celtics score within 5 (51-56).
Rondo with a fake behind the back goes on to score and adds 1 at the line. Wade comes back to respond with 2. James Jones hits not 1, not 2 but 3 back-to-back 3-pointers. 3:32 minutes remain in 3rd quarter. Boston with a turnover sends LeBron barreling down the lane. Look out the train is coming. Rondo steps in the line of the moving train and nearly gets his lights knocked out as he goes flying into a tail spin and nearly loses his head in a 360 flip, “Didn’t your mother teach you not to step in front of a moving vehicle?” James dribbles to the right and to the left then jumps and shoots. Rondo charges into the paint, “I’m talking this one in.” Davis splits through 2 Heat defenders and fakes to the basket. Anthony goes to the line. With one minute left in the 3rd quarter. Rondo passes to Green who takes a foul from LeBron. Turnover by the Celtics makes it a Heat ball. LeBron lets the shot clock run down, down, down, then with seconds he jumps to add 2 (67-72). Rondo tries to make one final point before the 3rd quarter closes but it’s no good.

Early in the 4th quarter, Glen Davis bulldozes a 4th personal foul on Anthony. Boston is down by 2 with nearly 10 minutes in the 4th quarter. Davis drives inside but Anthony grabs the rebound and it goes to LeBron. A steal by Chalmers sends a pass to LeBron then to Joel Anthony under the basket. Delonte West throws for 2 (76-80). Heat ball LeBron dribbles through his legs. Pierce races into the paint to respond with 2. LeBron gets a 3rd personal foul sending Pierce to the line to even the score 80-80. Chalmers packs a 3-pointer. Davis and Bosh scramble to the floor, colliding with Chalmers’ knee. Rolling on the floor holding his right knee – but Chalmers stays in the game. Wade fouled by Allen who picks up a 4th foul. At the line, Wade adds 2 (80-85). Davis runs under the basket wide open but misses the lay-up. The rebound goes to Wade then the train motors in to clean up and adds 2 at the line. (80-88). A rebound to Anthony lets James shoot over Davis and draw a foul. A defensive block by Anthony stops Boston’s score. LeBron hits another 2 (80-92). The Celtics miss a long 2. A push by Rondo sends James back to the line. Boston has fast play but no score. James gets a rebound. Heat ball from Wade to Bosh is knocked away by O’Neal sending Bosh to the line with 1 (80-94). Garnett manages to get 2 over Anthony (82-94). Heat ball. Garnett throws Chalmers to the floor. With a 4th, foul Garnett leaves the court with over 3 minutes in the game. Doc Rivers gets a technical foul on the sideline. A 2nd foul on Wade. Bosh with a rebound. 2:31 minutes remaining. Rondo’s 3rd foul Bosh goes to the line (82-95). Chalmers picks up a 2nd foul giving Boston 2 at the line. Wade on his way to the basket is fouled by Jeff Green, his 5th foul. At the line, Wade adds 2 (84-97). Rondo races but is intercepted by LeBron, the 11th turnover by Boston.
Under 2 minutes in the game. The ball goes to Boston. Rondo # 9 lets the ball roll pass the half court then as Chalmers comes away from the paint races into the paint to score. Bosh jumps for 2. (86-99). Heat ball Rondo fouled on play and gains 1 (91-99). Allen gets in the way of LeBron and gets his 5th foul sending LeBron to the line and that takes the score to 100. The Heat leads by 9 with 48 seconds – that could be an eternity. Garnett under the basket but James knocks the ball away and the rebound is secured by Wade. The clock is down to 30 seconds – still an eternity – can we hurry up and win this game. LeBron and Garnett meet face to face at the Okay Choral up at the rim. Heat brings closure as it goes to the line with a 10-point lead and 8 seconds to play. Miami Heat claims a 2nd victory in game 2 of the second round of the play offs with a final score of 91-102.

5-1-11 Playoff Game 1 – Miami Heat v Boston Celtics

Dewayne Wade with 38 points and James Jones with 5 triples push the Miami Heat on with another win.

After a minute and a half into the game Dewayne Wade # 3 throws a long shot for 2 to start Miami’s lead over the Celtics. At the other end an illegal screen forces a turn over from Boston to the Heat. Dewayne Wade jumps for another 2. (0-4). LeBron James #6 to the line to give Boston its first score. (2-4) Jermaine O’Neal # 7 picks up a first foul on LeBron James. Kevin Garnet #5 throws up over Heat defense to score. Garnet # 5 grabs LeBron to stop him from scoring. (4-4) Ray Allen # 20 squeezes through 2 Heat players to score 6-4 giving Boston a 2-point lead. Rondo pushes Mike Bibby # 0 causing an offensive foul on Rondo. LeBron bats the Boston’s ball out – not here. LeBron with another steal races to the other end. Rondo # 5 grabs LeBron again to stop him from scoring. A 2nd foul called against Rondo. LeBron at the line ties the score at 6-6. Celtics with the ball 34 to Allen puts Boston back in the lead 8-6. LeBron drives up to the basket again but is fouled by Pierce. A pass from Wade to LeBron takes Miami back in the lead. (8-9). The action speeds up when Z gets a rebound sending the action racing to the other end. Ray Allen # 20 scores. Then a pass to Wade under the basket for a score 10-11. Wade draws a charge against Big Baby # 11 then adds 1 at the line. (10-14). 2 minutes left in the 1st quarter, Wade gpes to the line to add 2. (12-16). Now Joel Anthony # 50 is on Glen “Big Babby” Davis, # 11. Wade is on Ray Allen # 20. LeBron picks up a 2nd foul sending Allen to line for 2. (14-16). Anthony gets the rebound and Wade runs into the paint for 2. (14-18). Wade makes a steal then an about face, its off to the races at the other end and a quick pass to Mario Chalmers # 15 who races to the basket all alone and jumps to the rim to put it in just before the buzzer goes off to end the 1st quarter. The Heat leads by 6. (14-20).

James Jones # 22 comes back in the 2nd quarter and jumps but lands on his tail bone. A jump by Bosh in the paint adds 2. (16-22). The Celtics with fast ball play but the Heat strips the ball away. Then Jones jumps for 3 and it’s good. (16-25). At the other end Heat stops Paul Pierce # 34 from scoring and takes the ball away. James Jones comes back and hits another 3 from the corner. (16-28). When Delonte West # 13 and Mario Chalmers exchange words a technical foul is called on Delonte West for provoking the conflict. Chalmers adds a shot at the line. (16-29). West’s ball is batted out by Bosh. West gets a goal tend as he hangs on the rim to assist the ball in. Kevin Garnett # 5 gets another foul. Good ball movement – a turnover to the Heat. Green at the rim loses the ball to the Heat. Mike Miller # 13 with dynamo energy and in your face defense races under the basket but the pass goes out of bounds. Green loses the ball back to the Heat. West is wide open and knocks down a 3- pointer to reduce the score to a 10-point spread. (19-29). Pierce at other end adds 2. LeBron (21-29) with the ball Jones up for 3 and its good. (21-32). # 13 can’t keep up with James Jones # 22 allowing Jones to shoot. Ray Allen responds with 3. (24-32). The Celtics get into the paint and up for 2. Celtics ball movement from # 34 to #5 to #11 under the basket. West jumps up and knocks it in. (28-32). Pierce is called for an offensive foul on James Jones who takes a hit sending Jones to the floor. LeBron racing against the shot clock hits a 3 (28-35). The crowd shouts defense as the Celtics sneak behind Wade and scores. Wade races into the paint but finds James Jones in the corner for 3. Celtics lose the ball to the Heat but then a fall sends the ball back to the Celtics for 2. (30-38). Heat ball – Wade drives to the basket for 2. (30-41) Davis gets blocked by LeBron. Wade runs into the paint to score 2. (30-44) Jeff Green # 8 hits a 3 (33-44). LeBron hits 2. (33-46). Green on LeBron. West from the corner hits a 3. (36-46). Wade steps back and jumps for 3. (36-49). 1st foul on James Jones. Wade puts it up as the 2nd quarter winds down and its good. Heat leads at half time 36-51.

Quarter 3 starts with LeBron’s defense on Pierce causes a 24 second violation. LeBron dances then knocks down 2. 36-53. Ray Allen tries for 3 but the rebound goes to Bosh, and he adds 2 for the Heat. LeBron picks up his 3rd foul sending Jermaine O’neal # 7 to the line with 1. With a 16-point lead, the crowd shouts for more, “Let’s go Heat,” as Shack, dressed in a suit watches from the bench. (39-55) Bosh flies in the air to stop the pass to Garnett at the rim. Pierce hits 3 (44-55). An offensive foul called on Z sends the ball back to the Celtics. Rondo flips up 2 at the rim (46-55). Fast ball movement by the Celtics gives the Heat no time to set up defense allowing the Celtics to score. 8:37 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Rondo gets a rebound but takes a wack in the head by Wade’s arm as he comes down out of the air. Bosh gets his 8th rebound. LeBron is nearly stripped by O’neal but he holds on. “Defense,” the crowd shouts. Allen to Garnett wide open but the shot is no good. Rebound to Bibby and a pass to LeBron with a jumper adding 2. 6:07 remain in the 3rd quarter. Garnett jumps over Bosh for 2. (50-59) O’Neal and Garnett both jump to put a stopper to Bosh but a call on Garnett, his 3rd sends Bosh to the line gaining 1. (50-60). Allen hits a smooth 3. Wade pulls up with a jumper adding 2. (53-62). Anthony shows some defense as he blocks # 34’s shot. A Boston pass to Allen in the corner for 3. James Jones responds with 3. Kevin Garnett misses but O’Neal tips it back in. (58-67).
A flagrant foul is called against Jermaine O’Neal sending James Jones to the line for 2. Mike Bibby wide open hits 3. (58-72). 2 minutes remain in the 3rd quarter. Rondo with the ball heads to basket but a loose ball foul called on Boston sends the ball back to the heat. (58-72). James to the basket for 2 and draws the foul. Anthony at the line adds 2. The Celtics attempt a shot at the rim but LeBron and Anthony both jump in the air blocking and sending the ball to the Heat. LeBron drives to the basket but in the air slams into the body of big baby gaining a foul that sends LeBron to the line with a gain of 2. (58-76). Joel Anthony gets a 2nd foul as he puts a stop to Green # 8. At the line Green adds 1. (59-76). Heat ball to LeBron but an offensive foul turns over and Pierce shoots for 3 as the 3rd quarter winds down. (62-76).

Green comes back in the 4th quarter and jumps for 3 from the corner. Heat ball. Defensive 3- second violation on Celtics sends James Jones to the line. Heat ball Wade jumping over Delonte West adds 2. Pierce hits James Jones as Jones attempts to shoot from the corner. At the line Jones quickly adds 3. (65-82). 9:32 minutes remain in the 4th quarter. Boston speeds up the game. Pierce # 34 shoots for 3. (70-82). Then # 34 steps in James Jones’ face with a head butt after Jones fouls him. Both Jones and Pierce are hit with double technical fouls. (72-82) at line 34 adds 2. Wade with a pass to LeBron into the basket. The Heat shoots 2 over the Celtics’ tight defense. (74-84). Chalmers to Wade under the basket with a jumper for 2. After the shot Wade squeezes his arm but goes on the score at the line Wade. (74 -87). In tandem motion, Wade keeps tight on 20 chasing him down the floor when Pierce # 34 sets a screen and Wade runs smack into 34. The ref calls a flagrant foul and 34 is tossed out of the game. He heads to the locker room with his 2nd technical foul. A double technical is called on Wade and Pierce. Heat ball 6:49 minutes in 4th quarter. Wade dribbles to the floor but quickly recovers to send a pass to James. Wade then strips Rondo of the ball. Heat ball. The Celtics respond by stripping LeBron of the ball. (74-87) LeBron jumps and a miss but Wade comes back with 3. (74-90) Celtics ball rebounds to Wade. Wade into the paint and offensive foul is called before the basket is made. Ray Allen jumps wide open for 3. Fast ball movement. Joel Anthony fouls sending # 7 to the line with 3. (79-90). Allen from the corner adds 3 narrowing Heat lead to 8 (82-90). Wade is staying on 20 like white on rice. Ray Allen picks up his 3rd foul on Chalmers. Bosh wide open adds 2. (82-92).
3:47 Allen shoots for 3 but O’Neal knocks out of bound. Heat ball. Wade misses and Rondo gets the rebound but it’s stolen by James and sent to the other end to Wade up for 2. (83-94). A turnover to the Heat sends Wade to the basket – LeBron cleans up and finishes but the basket is no good. Instead, Wade goes to the line adding 2. (82-96). Green goes up but gets hit with a hard foul, Bosh picks up his 4th. At the line no basket and the rebound goes to the Heat. Wade with the ball, Rondo gets a steal and goes on to make it a 10- point game. (86-96). Bosh under the basket gets rejected. Rebound with a long pass to Wade racing down the court and dives, landing in the 3rd row and disappears in a sea of white hot fans. Fans move the cushion of their bodies and let Wade go crashing into the stand. Garnett loses ball with Boston’s 14th turnover. 1:27 remaining, Heat ball with a 10-point lead. LeBron with a long pass to Chalmers is blocked by Garnet. Rondo drives in with 55 seconds on the clock. Rondo deflects the ball out of bound. A foul called on West lets Wade add 1 point at the line. (88-97) A reaching foul on Wade sends 13 to the line with 2 added. (90-97) Jones fouls with 28 seconds on the clock. Jones to line adds 2. With good execution the Heat wins game one 90-99.
